Today I rediscovered the interesting, wild rugged world at the end of Draga valley (Begunje).

Ascent towards Poljska planina, then shortly after the marked path branches off from the road I turned onto the cross road which bypasses Lukenj Kilns to the south and leads to Luknja. However only for a short time. At the next bend left up the slope past plenty of ramsons to the saddle and then pathless right to the summit. From it then SW down my own way to the beautiful meadows which are slowly overgrowing with pines. The steepness here to the junction with the road is quite large.

Down to the road and along it to the marked path which leads to Prevala and right down through Luknja to the starting point.

Nice, fairly short trip that offers a lot.

Behind Borovlje (Ferlach) there's a mountain I can't find in any description or Slovenian search hits. Pretty interesting. Yesterday I ended up there when I turned from Bajdiš (Waidisch) onto a forest road (sometimes rough), which after a long time and some forks (map) takes you to the start (trail turns into woods). After about an hour through shady forest I reached sunny meadows by St. Anne's church, then along a slightly exposed ridge path in 15min to the top (highest point a bit ahead of the cross). Lush growth (thyme, forest clover, stinking iris), sunny day and superb viewpoint (Košuta, Ojstrc, Setiče, Grlovec, Carinthia with lakes and Klagenfurt... right to Triglav and Martuljek group).

Unbelievable what's hidden an hour from Ljubljana and no one writes about it. Nice surprise!

Picture as invitation.

I think these are now the best days for visiting the Hanz Path on Prisojnik. The snowfield is almost gone, so winter gear is not needed.

In my opinion, the path is very nice, varied, follows natural passages and offers very diverse terrains. It is not too hard, exemplarily secured and with good fitness provides true mountain pleasure.

Hi,

Dolinska gora can be approached from two sides.

If we park at the bridge over Hrastnica, we can continue along the road and after about 500m turn left into Kozjakov graben. Soon after the turnoff to Guzlja on the right, we go sharply left onto a wide path that leads us in zigzags to the ruins (top in the picture). From there straight ahead, down and then up to the "saddle" in the ridge. There left and along the path in 5-10min to the top.

Or turn left at the bridge towards Sv. Barbara and then past the quarry and house on gravel to the right turnoff (where the stream flows out). This path also brings us to the saddle, then right to the top.

Since there are quite a few turnoffs, it's good to check the map on hribi.net for better orientation (e.g. open the trip to Sv. Barbara).

Ločanka, if there's any info on these unusual ruins that offer a very interesting glimpse into some old estate and its rooms, I'd appreciate it.

Happy trails!

Currently access by car is a bit harder - from Sodražica towards Bloke the main road is closed, but you can detour via Globel, then just a little left on the "prohibited" road and turn left to the parking.

Currently enough water for a nice view. At the start they seem to have built a new wooden footbridge (not yet weathered).

The road to Biba planina is drivable to the last big bend, where there is currently a larger pile of snow, so it extends the walk to Šavnice by about 15min.

Unless you go to Bibo and take the shortcut at Nova Poljana on the narrower track, where there are quite a few fallen trees at the beginning, but it's doable. 45min to the top.

Snow on the ridge is 0-30cm, depending on how much is blown away where.

Great photos, excellent views.
The roof on no.12 looks like a dream ski slope...

Thanks Tadej,
I thought I had explored Goričko quite well, but judging by all your published trips, there's still a lot to see..

Nice break, thanks for the info!

To not open a new thread, I suggest to exploring souls right here that you can reach all these peaks and pastures also from the west. If starting from Kozjekov graben, countless paths and tracks hide in the forest leading to Gontarska planina. And unexpected stone ruins of once quite large estate hide in the forest somewhere north above Žirovnik farm. There is also a scenic NW extension of the ridge from Iga.

If anyone knows more about this part, I'll be grateful for info.

Today I went to Špilnik and fully agree with predecessor. Beautiful panoramic peak, but doesn't get much visits unlike neighbors. So decided to photo it a bit and post route(s) on our super forum.

p.s. currently wild garlic growing below summit
p.p.s. unusual how glaze damage much more visible on Špilnik than on nearby Lipovec and Sv.Lovrenc

Congratulations to the hikers of PD Iskra Kranj for arranging this nice trail, also from me, and praise for the nice bench positions.
Currently on the open part below Javorov vrh there are some small fallen spruces (remains of snow avalanche). I couldn't move them.

Otherwise, the mostly narrow path on steep terrain requires caution and a stronger lower leg. Mine was the left one, as I started the loop towards Krems. Note that you need to go past the farm and not up the steep slope to the wooden houses on the right, although it is possible there too via junctions and a longer path.

Hello,

wishing a peaceful resolution of the problem and to inform others on this forum, I forward the message on this topic and also my reply. Things resolve fastest in my opinion if they are transparent:

26.3.2021 19:11:04 Hello,

We noticed that several persons without owner's permission on private property unjustly photographed private property and published it on web networks.
We also noticed some violations of unauthorized parking and passage, causing damage to land and disturbing possession.

Legal basis:
Nature Conservation Act
Forests Act
Agricultural Land Act
Mountain Trails Act
Code of Obligations
Property Code
Penal Code

In recent years the number of hikers and cyclists on our private land, or right on the courtyard, has greatly increased and finally we found out why.
Individuals publish and share on the web exact locations where you were, which is silly but not illegal by itself.
Since the trails/pathless areas you walk/ride are not mountain/bike trails but private lands for which you didn't get passage permission, you may be in violation.
With your web publications you then entice other hikers/cyclists to violations!
We have nothing against enjoying nature and exploring hills, however that doesn't mean unlimited rights!

Our conditions are clear:
1. Walk/ride on marked categorized trails per legislation! There are practically none on our land, but we can provide where around they are.
2. Respect privacy and don't photo/film private lands and persons! Anonymized shots for own use are one thing, those for social networks and web another.
3. Anything already recorded/published without owner's/persons' consent shall be immediately deleted from web!
If disputed posts not deleted in 8 days, we will report to site admin and then competent institutions.

reply:

Hi, I understand your view. If you don't want hikers, maybe best to put a sign there that it's private land and passage not allowed. I would personally respect it no problem and take another path to the goal.

Personally I didn't step on your plot and didn't do the mentioned excursion, evident from post too. Even if I did, I couldn't know. So you'll resolve this easiest as mentioned above, cause otherwise it won't limit as humans are exploratory by nature and deletes alone won't help.

Also I'll put your post under this topic so all clear you don't want passage there. No problem, think hikers will respect and be informed this way.

Good luck and enjoy peace!

Yes, really too little mentioned this nice and pleasant path along the murmur of Višnjica. Ideal for hot summer days. Also for this time when there's little rain and path not muddy.

Several circular paths possible (Kucelj, Gornje Brezovo, Polica), I today in good company chose path over Blečji vrh and back on cart track at end of settlement to junction at path start (fork where yellow arrow).

Since I usually don't take photos, hope to attract someone with words...

grega_p14. 03. 2021 20:39:07
Gita, thanks a lot for the vivid reply. The starting pics tell everything about access - it seemed to me I should go there. The ridge will wait for some nice spring day...
grega_p14. 03. 2021 16:25:41
Yes, I'd say youth is folly. On one hand it seemed completely inappropriate to churn up the ridge path, destroy the undergrowth and see clods of torn woodruff, on the other I know that I too did some things in younger years that would seem totally unacceptable to me now.

So I didn't hassle them from that perspective when we talked. And I also saw that they got a good fright in their choice, as the motorbike couldn't handle the slope and they kept picking it up from the ground.

Sometimes weird looks from hikers work better than harsh words. Well, at least for me...

grega_p13. 03. 2021 21:31:36
Today along this wonderful ridge somehow like djimuzl, but I went higher more to the left (I'd say along the main gully) and came out just a few steps north of the southernmost peak. This wonderful viewpoint above Begunje is not named on maps and not marked as Mali Vrh (mentioned above), but reaches a height of just over 900m.

Continuing along the ridge was enjoyment of views, overcoming descents and climbs and marveling at how well the little path overcomes all rocky outcrops. The most exposed and crumbly one, somehow in the middle of the ridge (around 1000m or a bit below), is the best part of this hike for me.

If I had photographed, I would have caught a family of chamois in the gully, millions of woodruff and 2 motorcyclists who came along the ridge with motocross from S direction all the way to the den and back. They really plowed the path and the silence at the same time.

Thanks everyone again for the idea!
best regards Grega
