Although I've visited Bala valley many times, and grassy slopes under Stador where chamois often lazily lounge, today I head out with a different goal. Morning wakes us in Bavšica with pleasant meeting with a gentleman from the other end of Slovenia who today goes to Pelce, since he is more skilled he advances more quickly, we wake the day in quiet, but still disturb roe deer's morning graze twice, who warns by fussing that someone's moving in his habitat. At hunter's hut in Bala we turn left into forest. Trail is nicely visible. Higher up marmot warms in morning sun, from Stador chamois proudly watches us. Trail on grassy slopes nicely visible, for easier following we use cairns standing by it. At height ca 2000m, bit below valley between Vrhi, west of Stador, flock (about 10) probably young ptarmigans or ptarmigan hens flies from nest before us (too quick to see). Path from here, so from about 2000m becomes less visible but still followable thanks to cairns. Some 250m below summit more careful steps, then soon right under summit where right below it we scare herd of some 30 chamois. From top wonderful view all around to Austrian mountains and to sea. Proud Triglav afar, mighty Viševa and Montaž group, Mangart and Jalovec on the palm of the hand...As gaze travels from Triglav to sea, can't focus my eyes enough to spot our morning neighbor, whom I thank for friendly message waiting for us on return on my car wiper. Tour is very nice and I recommend it. Soon also to Pelce on our morning neighbor's recommendation.
