Hi.
I'm interested if the marked path along the left bank of the Idrijca is in use (read: passable) or just Peter Pan's pious wish to avoid the role of a skittle on the asphalt road on the other side of the river.
Asking for the section Reka - Stopnik - Dolenja Trebuša.

If by chance there's already a description somewhere on the forum, at least partial, I'd appreciate a pointer to it, as I haven't found anything useful myself.
Thanks.

Ps. added map ...

If I'm not mistaken, the path from the box on Planica continues further west. If .. maybe someone knows how far the path is traceable?

Ha ha ha ... I really mistook them for forest berries. I only tried one, and even spat that one out. Because really, as much as they look beautiful and juicy, they are without any taste ..
Misantrof, thanks for the explanation!

A bit up/down/around ...
Despite the precipitation there is no mud, but due to the wet and lush vegetation the legs were wet from the knees down.

This time I stuck to the northern side of Kriška gora.
Ascent from Tržič past Brčev rovt, descent past Mali turn to Grahovše. The common denominator of the entire day - steepness, solitude, peace.

Quickly, before the first morning shower.
Ascent along the Path by the scree which I left at approx 1000m and took the right less trodden path. This was constantly peeking at the ridge that joins under the summit to the marked path.
Descent via Janez's. Attention to ticks!

From Jugorje to Trdinov vrh. Mostly along the E7/Trdinova trail.
I was pleasantly surprised by the well-marked path, as I got the feeling it doesn't get much traffic. In places it's already losing the war with vegetation, and otherwise it's very littered with branches. The worst section is the one that joins the macadam road just below Logarjev kogl via a shortcut. There, on a longer stretch due to branches, there's practically no path ...
Of course there are also nice sections.
Despite wading through vegetation, no tick attached to me.

To Kojca via the northern traverse from Bukovo village. Descent via the southern traverse to Orehovo and extension over Rodne peak to Reka village.

Kobilja glava and Jalovnik with descent to Sela nad Podmelcem.

To help others who might have been in doubt just like me ... Due to my 'logistics' I tackled the path in the opposite direction from what I asked in the post.
The section D.Trebuša - Stopnik is obviously less used than Stopnik - Reka. The trail here is a bit more 'dirty and overgrown' ...

In short ... the path is ... and it is perfectly walkable. No orientation issues. Only right before reaching the first houses in Stopnik the path briefly completely deviates from the one marked on the maps. The path here steeply climbs about 40m higher up the slope. Obviously the 'original path' was too exposed at higher Idrijca water levels (guessing).
The section Stopnik - Reka is freshly tidied up and cleaned tip-top. Obviously something is happening here (maybe some trail run). Only two fallen trees remain right before the picnic spot, but work is ongoing as the workers left some equipment there.

The only downside, in my personal opinion, is unfortunately that (too) long gravel-asphalt section through Stopnik (cca 2km), which dragged on for me. I'm just more of the rugged type :-)
Otherwise .. from the bridge in D.Trebušah to the 1st bridge in Reka it's cca 11km/400m.
A little more in the photos ...

@Tulipan, Miri: Thanks!

The section is passable. In principle, all the safety gear, where it is, serves its purpose. If you're of the clumsier sort, a short passage (approx. 2m) might be a bit 'spooky', because the cables run out there.

From May onwards, due to snow on the north side, I preferred to stick to the very edge of Votle stene. At least my shoes stayed dry. Except at the very summit, where I stayed less than a minute, the bora was tolerable/unobtrusive. The most annoying section was to the junction of the southern path to Strane, as you can't avoid the snow there.

Crossing Kolovrat (Na Gradu - Kuk). Nice, warm day, no wind. Views as awesome as it gets. Path without peculiarities, except descent to Livek, where the path veers onto the NW shady side. There it was icy and the ground still frozen. Those steepest 100 vertical meters were a bit annoying.

Bagi, too bad. I was in the Reka gorge (Famlje - Matavun) on Saturday and the path was completely normally passable. Except for one smaller log across the path right near Peptov mlin, there wasn't a single obstacle on the path. Honestly, I didn't see any warning (at least from the direction of Famlje village)(fortunately).
It is true that on one section I climbed about 50m above the riverbed for approx. 700m length (sign "easier path").

Interested approx at what altitude is snow line.

Can someone confirm if the hand-operated cableway across Tolminka (to get to Planina Prode) is operating normally.
