Scottish "highland" cattle? Scotland doesn't have particularly high mountains And once I heard from some herder that in our mountains, especially in steeper slopes, native cows manage much better.

"Highland" it is, not "high-mountain".

Highland cattle is the original breed name.

Yes, highland means uplands, not high mountains.

Well yeah... conditions are quite harsh in those uplands

Hm, interesting, but the term in the article is actually incorrect. I even went to check if the general Slovenian term is wrong (so that the translation reflects a different meaning, which is common e.g. in some movies), but no. At the Biotechnical Faculty they use "highland Scottish cattle", which is of course the appropriate translation. An example on the link: http://www.digitalna-knjiznica.bf.uni-lj.si/vs_horvat_simona.pdf

Trobec, in reality at BF they use almost as many terms as people: high-mountain, highland and upland. Upland is correct of course, since Highlands almost nobody translates differently than uplands.

We don't have urban swallows. Is there any difference?

Differs from urban by deeply forked tail and dark band on chest, urban has white chin

Earlier I found this little critter on the wall behind the house. I thought it was a grasshopper. It let me pick it up. It didn't fly although it has wings. Maybe someone knows its name?

Or isn't it a grasshopper? It's similar to it

No it's not, but similar. Maybe this one on the pic is bigger.

Darinka, that's a moth or night butterfly. Click Uncle Google under moth and soon you'll see your critter. Nice regards
