Darinka, in our parts large emperor moths are quite common too (nona always called it coprnica ), which is even much bigger, up to 15cm wingspan.

Aha, the silkmoth is quite similar to the large emperor moth, both in size and wing pattern, but much lighter.

I'm walking on a marked trail and when I get over a small ridge, at about 20 to 25 meters, I scare a bear. The bear flees to the side and sits on the ground after 20 meters. If I want to continue on the marked trail, I have to approach the bear again to 20 meters, which I do, and the bear observes it all almost motionlessly. Obviously the bear was scared only at the start, then I didn't seem dangerous to it anymore.
Unfortunately I didn't take any nice pictures, because I only photographed from 40 to 50 meters away.
