From the path to Mežaklo... Cheeky squirrel was watching the bite. A bit lower, on the trunk it was flapping its wings. Unfortunately I didn't manage to photograph when the bird flew away, probably because of me. Squirrel slowly upwards, this time it successfully carried it away.

This bird walked for quite a long time in front of the car on the road to the Jakobe parking lot under Peca. Finally, it spread really big wings and flew among the trees. Is it a wild rooster?

Yesterday 1.11. at 12.45 a larger, loud flock over Brezovica near Ljubljana. Direction NE-SW. The flock flew over the motorway.

Hello, cranes have arrived over our areas in these days, large loud birds that most often fly in "V" flocks. If you've seen them or already have, I highly recommend reporting the date and (approx.) time of observation, exact location, number of individuals (approx. estimate ok) and flight direction. Thanks!

At the tourist farm near Abram, regular stop for hikers to Nanos, for over twenty years they've kept a bear in captivity. Given that bears' daily "range" is much wider than what the mentioned few-meter cage allows this animal, an energetic response from visitors to this farm to the deliberate restriction of movement and simultaneous deprivation of this bear's natural instincts, named - Mitko.., would have been expected long ago.
But since apparently the vast majority of visitors shut their eyes to this obvious violence against the animal, I call on all of you - nature and animal lovers - to speak out against caging wild animals for private purposes and the resulting unnecessary psychological and physical restriction to which it leads.
If our community already approves caging bears in cages - ZOO Ljubljana - let it be in appropriately large spaces for them (which of course will never be comparable to natural ones) and not in a small cage of a couple of 10 square meters like at Abram and some other captive bears in Slovenia. We can influence such obvious violations of animal rights, can't we?

In summer when Julijci are heavily besieged by hikers I usually wander in the mountains in the Karavanke. Well, I stumbled on this track. I walked off marked paths, a bit my own way. I think it's a wolf track. Not quite sure though, what do you think?
