While we're on bladders, these modern ones aren't worth a dime. The best are those from leather, Spanish for wine. They hold water too.

I have a CamelBak bladder and it's fine, no smell, no taste. Price for 3-liter one is 30 EUR +

Yeah, OK, maybe. I'm still old school and sucking doesn't suit me

It's at hand, no need to stop, take off backpack, etc. But water you gotta blow back into bladder, otherwise first sips are uncomfortably warm

Like I say, old school. Regular day hike - drink nothing. Strenuous day hike - drink when stop, once. Nothing in between. Human body endures much more than civilized man imagines. Old school means enjoying testing what it really endures.

As Smetar said, it has to fit you like clothes.

With heavier weight besides fitting it's important it loads mainly hips, not shoulders.

@Palček, thanks for the info, sometimes I take the camera and just one lens (24-70 usually) so there's enough space in a regular backpack too. The lens of course in an extra protective pouch, additionally protected in case of a fall. For photo gear I have a special photo backpack where a DSLR and 3-4 lenses + flash and all other extras fit without problem, on the sides extra pockets for 1.5l bottle, on top also space for windbreaker and sandwich, but as I said never took the full gear to the mountains, so besides photo backpack I'm buying an extra one for the mountains.

Kleemen, now you'll probably trigger a wave of more or less (un)important replies and opinions; including mine, just so there's no mistake. Buy what you think fits well on your back and looks quality. Just this backpack is quite 5-15 liters bigger than you planned and accordingly heavy as a brick; 1.4 kg is really a lot. It carries well, whatever you buy

I bought online from Factori Story a backpack roughly like the Osprey one I was looking for. It was discounted, last piece. I called and she discounted it even more. Next day I received it by fast post at the agreed price. I'm satisfied with it so far, used it on two hikes.

True, before every purchase I'm interested in lots of things about multiple products, so in the end I choose the right one. I'll check out Factory Story too, first time I hear of this shop. Thanks for the info. Only problem is I don't like buying such things online, because I like to try them on first to see how they fit.

Kleemen, Osprey backpacks are also sold at Annapurna. They don't have all models, and a bit more expensive, but they'll surely let you try them. They have some models at Kibuba too.

Klemen, if you haven't decided on a backpack yet, check out Promontana website too. They have some. And you get a discount if you sign up. I bought a helmet there with discount in the desired color.
