Conditions higher up demanding. Mainly due to melting snow. Snow starts beyond the hunter's hut. First patches. There the path gets lost. Good to know where the path goes. On the summit the snow is windblown. Descent carefully. On top it was a bit windy and cold.

at least you know exactly where the summit is.

Thanks, Saram. Lijaneja, path well known to me. Had chamois on trail, probably staring surprised what I do here. So not alone. On descent lower in snow spotted bear tracks. Probably local who's almost home here.

Yeah last year at the beginning of September there was still a snow tunnel there.

path from Soča is normally passable, only recommend early start, can be very hot in the afternoon
otherwise was intended path over kanski pass, but officially closed, although there were a couple hikers who went that path and say it goes, only descent is questionable

Yesterday from Soča to the summit and back the same path, the path is normally passable, no snow anywhere, from the hunters' hut onwards the path is a bit less visible.
The day ideal for hiking, stronger wind only at times, at the summit almost calm, views satisfactory ... we were happy that we/she completed it. jezik

Nice photos that took me back 11 whole years to Soča village, where we had a short vacation, started to summit right from accommodation.
It was quite interesting on the whole path.

From Trenta I went to Zapotok pasture, where I, the only hiker among alpinists, slept in a bivouac in a shepherd's hut renovated with assault team a decade ago and saved from collapse. Currently despite drought there's still a stream on the pasture (usually doesn't dry up).

Up I went direct path (not over Kanja saddle). Climbing part equipped with protections, recommend SVK, especially if descending back same way. At entry to climbing part (pic 12) need to step over to bracket across about meter wide, couple meters deep crack. For bridging good to have 2 carabiners and 4m rope. First/alone can clip to bracket and after step to wire, others from wire to SVK (in case wet rocks).

Descended to Soča village, path also arranged that side.

Special place on path for mountain apollo, butterfly still fluttering here on high alpine meadows.

Zapotoški vrh, Srebrnjak, Trentarski pelc (?)

Last week from Bavšice to BG and down to Soča. Path from Bavšice a bit overgrown, long pants not amiss, but also OK without if nettles and tall grass don't bother. On Bukovec pasture water flows, chance to quench thirst. According to logbook one of very few who set off this way.

Yesterday on this solitary, panoramic and wild mountain from Soča. The path itself is well traceable, despite high grass and bushes. Due to reptiles and moisture long pants are not superfluous. Before the entrance to the gully and below the summit there are some snow patches, which can be crossed or bypassed.
During the entire tour we met only one hiker, and he was a foreigner from one of the camps along the Soča. Camps are quite filled, mainly with foreign tourists.
The views are exceptional, likewise the Soča valley itself. And just the refreshment in Soča under the guesthouse was the icing on the cake of the long and wonderful tour.
