Today I saved a fledgling, probably a sparrow, from the cat. She was already preparing to catch it.
He was completely scared1
on the window sill.2
The cat on the other side of the room was getting ready.3
then it relaxed4
and stayed on my hand5
I took it to freedom. I hope it will survive happily.6

Hmm, I wonder what lubadar would add to this...

Then, when it trusted me so much that it stayed on my hand and started washing itself. I released it into nature. Scolded the cat though, if it would help anything.nasmeh

Photographed at the beginning of July in the Danube Delta... It's really a puzzle for me. Definitely an eagle species? Given the location I'd guess it could be the osprey, but they have a whiter head? And no eagle species I've found on the web and in my guidebooks has a completely yellow beak, but at least the tip dark? If anyone knows what this is, I'd be glad... :-)

hi, this is an adult white-tailed eagle (European version of those American eagles with white head). It also lives in Slovenia (ca.10 pairs)

It's been quite a while since anyone was interested in anything.
Well, on Sunday above the Zajavor ridge this flyer, and I'm not sure if it's the white-headed hawk or not. That blackness on the head bothers me. Ornithologist would know, rightnasmehnasmeh

Of course nasmeh it's the osprey, a rare bird that only migrates through our areas.

Where exactly did you observe it? Zajavor in the Muzec ridge? Do you perhaps know where it flew?

It was circling above the ridge somewhere in the middle between Zajavor and Nizki vrh (above Resia). It flew off towards south or southwest. Roughly like that.
Otherwise thanks for the very quick replynasmeh

On Friday we observed a buzzard on Jerebica gliding from the direction of Črnelske špice towards Mangart. It didn't flap its wings once, just glided. Otherwise a large bird, but not extremely (definitely much smaller than a hawk), dark, but clearly visible that it had a white transverse stripe on wings and tail. Tail shorter, somewhat fan-shaped, feathers at the end of wings not spread out (didn't look like fingers). Someone at the top claimed it was an eagle. Unfortunately no photomrk pogled I've been browsing data for a few days now; can anyone tell if it's really possible we saw an eagle?

Hi,

from the description I'd say it's a young golden eagle. Characteristic for it is whiteness in tail and wings. Sending link to photos.

Hm, I've already seen that recording...it's very similar, only this one has a somewhat wedge-shaped tail, theirs was straight cut, like some winglet for little dolls with a white ribbon.

Sending a couple of buzzard photos I snapped during the year in the mountains.

best regards
buzzard1
The honey buzzard is a bird of prey similar to the buzzard. At the end of summer they migrate far away to sub-Saharan Africa2
Smaller sparrowhawk chases the honey buzzard3
The honey buzzard is more barred on wings and tail and more pea-speckled on the body than the buzzard4
young white-headed hawk5
White-headed hawks are huge birds, wingspan almost 3m6
Young honey buzzards are much less barred and speckled7
Wallcreeper8
About 10 pairs of black redstarts live in Slo. The photo shows a young bird without such a pronounced forked tail yet. They migrate to sub-Saharan Africa.9
