Yesterday and probably a few more days conditions are ideal for hiking. Snow just a trace, a light breeze accompanied us, many hikers on top. More at:

Today early afternoon on Blegoš. Started in village Leskovica past Shelter at Jelenci and Hut on Blegoš to summit. Conditions excellent, little snow only on ascent from hut to top, where it was slightly windy. Some snapshots in photos.

Blegoš today in the sun and no wind. From Črni kal via Prva raven to top path dry, from top to hut ice can be bypassed right at forest edge. Returned via path to Prva raven and to Črni kal. In sun really pleasantly warm with beautiful views.

On beautiful sunny Monday to Blegoš. Path to start at Črni Kal needs to be known and follow marks for Blegoš faithfully. If snow, chains needed for path to start. Up via ridge. On path just some cm snow. Below ice, so small crampons useful. Ridge path quite steep. Not too long - walk about an hour to top. After an hour of walking bunkers of Rupnik line appear. Quickly at top with divine views around. Now steep descent to hut, unfortunately closed on Mondays. For descent also need crampons, slippery here. Down via road.

Very nice, I already miss Blegoš a bit.
How cold was it? Considering that both paths are more shady...

At the parking lot it was eight below zero in the morning, up in the sun five below zero. At the hut it showed the same as at the top. You need warm gloves and warm socks.

On Saturday for the annual winter "visit" to Blegoš; beautiful as always this time too. Approach from Javorje direction to Črni Kal; the last steep bit before Kal quite icy, so the "iron pony" had to wait lower. Following numerous footprints of predecessors in the snow we headed first to the summit (not much snow), where it was pretty cold and wind gusts strongly swirled snow clouds, so we quickly dashed to the warm shelter of the hut; meanwhile it got cloudier and even some snowflakes danced, so most of us hikers decided to return to starting points asap; we took the circular path; otherwise a great winter tour; nasmehlp

@SunBurned - oh, it's bearable, you warm up with walking; on exposed summit anyway usually windy and you're prepared; warm gloves and socks as velkavrh advises, I add scarf, hehehe, cuz I'm a freezer; before hut there's lee and last Saturday some "warmed up" (even cooled with beer)mežikanje;lp

Today the path took me from Martinj vrh to Črni kal and along ridge to Blegoš, back by road.
Also took some pics, last time for Ratitovec I was grumpy, but today unfortunately views not so great. Well, could be worse.
All together, report + pics and more at

Some yesterday's pics from ascent to Blegoš. From Črni kal I first walked to Prva ravan, where marked paths from Jelovica and Čabrač join, then continued to Blegoš summit. From summit descended unmarked path towards Leskovica, midway short detour to Koča na Blegošu. Left path to Leskovica at forest road, then back to Črni kal on it.

Today ascent from Leskovica to Blegoš, my favorite goal. Just right amount of walking for this season, especially since good forecast only for morning. Extremely little snow, actually expected more. Nice weather, no wind. Return past hut and loop closed at bottom.

Today done circular tour Črni kal-Blegoš-hut-Prva ravan-Črni kal. Dry on shady parts, on sunny parts partial southern snow. Paths trodden, almost no ice. Crampons not superfluous to avoid slips.

Trail from Čabrač nothing special, slightly frozen in some places, during the day in the sun not even that. A bit more caution on descent and it goes without problems. The trail is well trodden. Lp

Sunday - Road to Črni Kal from Javorje-Žetina direction; phone info from hut keepers the day before was that the road is fine, normally drivable, but unfortunately the actual morning condition was totally different - very icyeek, especially on certain shaded sections; we weren't the only ones worried about the return and preferred to say goodbye early from the pleasant, sunny and this time almost windless summit; lp

All trails well hiked. I recommend crampons too, especially on sunny slopes during descent.
