When you reach the fixed cable on picture number 13, you'll see the start of the via ferrata they set up vertically.

Waterfall Šošterica and Šega mine today. Also mežikanje this is Boč. Above Makole, mine in Jelovec and waterfall in Stari grad. From Poljčane in tourist variant by bike along Dravinja river. No real will today over Boč. Here somewhere the world of Haloze/east and Dravinja hills/west breaks. Šega mine renovated some time ago and nice memory of old ,,knapovske,, times under Boč. Šošterica waterfall marked by diligent locals. Good waterflow and waterfall quite active. Also in Boč area some ,,primordial water wilderness,,. Access to both points easy. From Makole towards Stari grad follow asphalt road. Along the road also sculptures of Makole Forma viva. Mostly wooden material.

Mountaineers' hut PD Poljčane on Boč goal. Bike and hike combination. Start Poljčane to Lovnik by bike. From Lovnik/panzeršpera hiking. Pleasant path and soon connection to Dolga gora - Boč path. Sunny path and of course rocky partly terrain. Among pines also enough shade on limestone ground. Higher at Galke from right joins path from Zgornji Gabernik. Continuing common path. By pasque flower site to church Sv. Miklavž and hut on Boč
Path mostly dry. Despite rain it's very permeable area. Today path lonely. Time already a bit late. Return same track. This is somewhere second most prominent western approach to Boč besides Pečica as start of course...Lp

Boč was mežikanje there. Partisan hospital at Formila from Studenice. Easy track. More cycling than hiking. In past days enough cycling ,,wire,,. Hiking, light activity in evening. More like end of September than mid August. It was hanging but no rain. Paths emptied. Already animal movements happening. From day to night positions. Herd of mouflon crossed path between Kisovec and Golnik. They move on interesting peaks. Distinct rocky world, especially Kisovec. Kisovec surely most interesting peak on Boč. Next to central peak with tower of course. Maybe wrote mežikanje too much. Descent easily done. Daylight part getting shorter. Descent in hard darkness. To good old Studenice. Broke ten in kilometers. Few hundreds elevation. Presumably northernmost start for Boč. Track soon added to officially described path. And, nasmeh it was really pleasant...Lp

Between I don't know which shower today and of course mežikanje next short activity on Boč. Easy track, hiking today. Studenice pleasant start. Springs activity above Studenice strong/not quite mighty. Still expected a bit more waterflow. Path higher wet. Until today only once on one of Boč peaks. Because mežikanje once they say is never today second time. Peak Golnik. Height 623 m. Better known hut a bit lower, Poljčane hunters. Hut height around 575 m. Peak a bit right of road to tower. Branch at only level part of road. No views. In dense forest. From seen also not geodesically measured, say some marker. Summit area slightly domed. Typical, distinct ,,hunters,, peak. For spicing light training, just enough...Some nasmeh luck, right after return to Studenice heavy downpour.

In the broader catchment area of the spring of the Topli/Studeniški stream. Definitely Boč and Plešivec. From Studenice by road to RTV tower and extension to viewpoint. Of course in this part there are no streams or streamlets. Rain simply sinks into the limestone soil. To the tower it also ,,rained,, properly on me. One/two drops per ARSO was for this world and these hours. And it mežikanje was. Tower summit skipped and descent next to military object. Down the road and exit to Formilo clearing. Between Formilo and partisan hospital two distinct sinkholes/caves where two or three torrential streams sink. Into underground water system and connections. Up to Gavez and further to Plešivec summit. To summit by hiking path. Descent by forest road from Plešivec. Continuing under Stavski vrh back to Studenice.
Paths properly soaked and partly muddy. At some parts somewhat more foggy and visibility even zero. Boč and Plešivec/couple of peaks, broader connecting area of Formila with surroundings. Pleasant Saturday afternoon, weather otherwise unfavorable. No recreation seekers. Met some mushroom pickers and that in Plešivec area.

In front of the RTV tower, the picture is not from today, it was more unpleasant...1
The tower/viewpoint is the highest point today and continues across the Formila624 clearing to the 822-meter-high Plešivec for a couple of peaks.2

Start in Studenice. Boč, northeast part. No real idea. For connecting thread of path today. Aimed for Formilo. Time for thinking. Simple forest road. Continuing undulating hiking path. In forest and first outlines of autumn. During path decision fell. Dedni vrh, height 653 m. From Formila continuing by partisan hospital and climbing crag. Continuing direction Makole. On Dedni vrh until today only once. Then by bike. Today approach to summit from southwest. Interesting peak. Caught somewhere last sun. No views. Dedni vrh somewhere more called the clearing a bit lower with homestead. Above clearing path junction in quite some directions.
Short stop at summit and continuing return by shorter line. Under Stavski vrh/Stavšek back to Studenice. Short, pleasant activity.

The hunting stand is somewhere on the northwestern part of Dedni vrh and visible somewhat downward from the summit itself.2
Today the approach in this direction is more rocky, photos from 30.10.2012, today without camera.3

From Studenice to tower on Boč. Direct variant through area called Stara drevesnica. Term Stara drevesnica probably in context of some tree planting a century, two ago - maybe even in time of Maria Theresa. Path with no respite. Few hundred meters gravel base. All the time, whole path only uphill. Today partly wet/consequently muddy. At end connection to path that they walk from direction of Makole and Rogaška Slatina. Typical ridge approach, quite some rocks and stones. Today slippery, of course already few days annoying fog higher on Boč especially at night and first fallen leaves. Path not marked. Summit part also today in fog. Continuing extension to RTV tower, descent by forest road back to Studenice...

Boč, better said Plešivec today. Hiking from Studenice. In roughly the most ,,mountaineering variant,,. Therefore included also the mountaineering path from Makole. Joined it below the Hrastovec junction. That's also a section of the path through the wine hills. At the Formila clearing, connection to the Štajerska bratska pot. Along it to the Plešivec summit itself. Visited today for a change all three main points of Plešivec. In the final part, the path took on some kind of loop shape. Also descent today along the same track downward. I'm not a fan of ,,up and down,,. But today mežikanje exception. Conditions phenomenal for this time. Met many active people. In different forms. Cycling, hiking, mountaineering, strolling, foraging... Yes, it was worth it mežikanje to catch a nice day. Total a bit less than 20 km, elevation a bit over 700. It was one such atypical path. Unlike Boč, things less steep. More varied, because not strictly uphill. And conifers on Plešivec give the path other/special character...

Boč, to the church of Sv. Marjeta from Studenice. Afternoon and foggy. Used a wide range of paths. Uphill on the steep variant of the Roman road. Clogged with material. Lots of rotten logs. Few of us still walk here and there. Clearings here not done for decades. Overgrown and quite hard to pass. Now it's OK, in summer total tick infestation here. A year, two ago already presented this path... Continuing forest road on return short section of old pilgrimage, forestry, hunting... questionmežikanje who owns this path and descent on the described path on these pages from Formila clearing in combination with hiking path from Makole and forest road. Terrain partly muddy, soaked and slippery. At Sv. Marjeta some peace ruled. Main paths in Boč area don't lead exactly here and that's right so...
What to add, practically nothing. Short activity, suitable for boring slightly foggy afternoon and some sun broke through fog between Kisovec and Hrastovec, Formilo and Sv. Marjeta for nice impression.

To Studeniški Castle... there via Upper Poljčane and back Lower Poljčane. Podboč settlement and Pritensko point shared. It was a super sunny Sunday, because in the light part of the day there was no time for mini early evening hiking activity to border/edge parts of Boč and a bit of a whiff of history - Studeniški Castle... The night was clear higher up, while a narrow strip of fog was forming along and above the Dravinja river bed...

A few words:
Total height approx 40 m, practically vertical with short overhang in upper (last part) with just enough pegs and enough options for natural grip. Passage time approx 6 minutes

Today on Boč after long time, up via educational trail to Balunjača and via ferratawink further to summit, down to hut on Boč which is openbig all days except Monday and where I quenched my thirstsmile, from hut via Baba back to start.

The highest point on the road between Poljčane and Zgornja Kostrivnica, just below 700 meters, the view in the picture is from the direction of Donačka gora.1

It was a bit more than five kilometers of Boč, sign photo taken on return in Potok Bela valley near ,,Granit quarry,, close to Šela homestead1
Today specific hiking start Lovnik/panzeršpere in Beka stream valley...access by bike...2
Through Pečovje the path was sunlit3
In front of the pasqueflower stand and the PD Poljčane mountaineers' hut on Boč at the exit from the forest section.4
Yes, there were many points today but this was the main one. Tower on Boč via Senčna, also III. forest educational trail.5

In evening hours Boč, short hiking activity. To west to viewpoint above Galke quarry. Nice evening view, Sotla watershed valley was fog-free... Extension to east side to saddle, highest point of asphalt connection between Poljčane and Upper Kostrivnica and return. Along path of course traditional points St. Nicholas and primrose site. Hut already closed. Path today had somewhere shape of letter T. Ascent by road and descent road and lower part of Baba. Path simply pleasant, almost no wind...

Evening activity in central part of Boč on Monday 24.11.2014. Garmin threw out some path at start. Didn't draw it. It was from Poljčane, Lower Poljčane, Studenice, Golnik cabin...rest in track. Track simple, more cycling than hiking. Foggy above 520m and poor visibility, at times winkvery poor visibility. Some dew higher and no wind. Met no one. Due to weather not too pleasant but that's Boč end of November...Yes fog always pleasant challenge...

Today some small Boč. Only to height 426 meters. Junction to hunters cabin LD Poljčane above Studenice was somewhere final goal. Last night eyes somewhat too much winksuffered due to dense fog between Golnik cabin and alpine hut. Connecting in Dravinja river valley somewhat more paths. Also lower need to do something to enjoy higher when needed...

Hiking to viewpoint at Galka from Studenice... of course it was foggy like the whole Boč mežikanje more or less. In some spots visibility almost zero. There from Studenice via path/forest road under Stavski peak, back under Kisovec. Hiking path between them skipped today. Strong dew from fog especially in forest parts pronounced... Boč today poorly visited. Despite fog pleasant. Humidity 93% per data, felt like ,,110%,,. No views, of course not expected to be there. One solid training will remain in memory, on Sunday 30.11.2014...
