@terminator, regarding access to Bovec Chamois Peak from Vrata via Luknja, no issues. The path is almost entirely dry - some snow patch, but no problems. The path from the summit to Kriški Podi is on the shady side... well, there are some nasty snow-covered spots needing great caution.
How it is further to Križ, dunno, cuz we descended via Sovatna with buddy, conditions roughly same everywhere, i.e., sunny sides have little snow, shady sides more snowy and hard all day. Ice axe and crampons very handy or necessary there.

Don't know if it's really so hard to carry a few more kg... Little vs. problems that can arise...
Even though it looks and is almost all dry, must realize where snow on path is frozen all day, no way to kick steps or similar, dangerous in itself... Last time barely stuck ice axe in snow...
In your shoes I'd take gear...

Path Bovec Chamois Peak-Dovška vrata needs winter gear, helmet, crampons and ice axe, steps smooth and hard. lp

Matter is clear. In late fall and winter months no high mountains without winter gear even if mostly looks dry and nice.

Weather finally good for hikers too. Yesterday we went from Zadnjica over Luknja to Bovec Chamois and then past Kriški podi back to Zadnjica. No snow left anywhere on the path, weather as I said fantastic (today we're a bit sunburned). The icing on the cake was a herd of chamois a bit below Bovec Chamois, which our almost hourly presence didn't bother at all. That really charges your batteries! Enjoy!

Yesterday from Vrata to Luknja, where the path under Luknja is newly rebuilt and marked, the ascent is now much easier, also helpful is the fixed cable installed in the section under the wall. Continued to Bovec Chamois and descended to Kriški podi. Path without issues. Staff at Pogačnik hut extremely friendly, bravo girls.

Today Vrata-Luknja-BG-Dovška v.-Stenar-Dovška v.-Sovatna-Vrata. Start at 6.30, back 13.15. Total stops one hour, longest at Dovška v.
To Luknja the path is newly reworked, specifically on scree left, under the wall right before Luknja new cables that greatly ease (especially) descent. To BG path OK, not for vertigo sufferers. Descent to Dovška v. also not for vertigo sufferers, though path well secured where needed. Quick jump to Stenar pass to see if anything visible down, where I missed on Wednesday, but saw only fog and it all passed me. Then up to Stenar path OK, just the markers were working. Good job! Down via Sovatna surprisingly didn't drag, new cables here too. In about 2 hours down from Stenar. Quite a few people. Pics to follow.

When the mists play, the views are especially beautiful. Yesterday it brewed all day, lifted the lids a bit, then brewed and threatened again, but nothing serious happened. At the top of Gamsovca it cleared for moments, then cold dragged and reminded that it's not always warm in the mountains either. Path from Luknja to Gamsovec as always beautiful and without features, the repairs to Luknja already mentioned. Descent from Gamsovca to Dovška vratca does not pose special difficulties. Pogačnikov dom not completely packed, girls friendly and patient. They know, really. Morning was washed but cold, bit the cheeks a bit, especially as it blew quite a lot. First to Stenar, then a bit down, back to Križ and then from cross past Bivak IV (empty, cleaned up) back to Vrata. Beautiful classic, in nicest company, two beautiful mountain days.

Path from Vrata to Luknja cleared and partly (over scree) newly rebuilt - along former (old) trail. Just below saddle newly installed another 50m of cable, which in this part (as already written) great help especially on descent. To rebuild part of this path, install cable and drill holes in rock took effort... Had to carry generator, drill machine, pegs, cable and all other tools on backs... In lower part also chainsaws and fuel... Had to drill, hammer pegs and excavate path... Users respect work of path makers... In this case - Bravo guys from TECHNICAL COMMISSION KZP PZS!!!
