Wow, what I missed, well maybe it'll help me next year.
Praise for your effort, but I managed twice without it, I'd manage the third time too ... maybe.

Excellent! As I understand, all effort was wasted! And let hikers "slide" everywhere and (maybe) roll rocks on others' heads... At least GRS will have work... And if there weren't such men and guys doing what they did on the path to Luknja, many hills would be less (or not) visited... But praise would sound nicer anyway...

On Wed 22.8.2012 my wife and I did the tour Vrata - Sovatna - Kriški podi - Bovški Gamsovec - Luknja - Vrata. Very nice tour in excellent weather. Met chamois, rock ptarmigans, ermine, saw edelweiss, first-class trip.

Path nicely maintained and secured, only one part on descent from Gamsovec to Luknja rock broke off where cable peg was hammered, so last part of cable hangs free.

On top of Bovški Gamsovec unfortunately forgot small photo tripod. Finder willing to return can reach me at 051 617 300. Aleš.

Today... over Luknja to the summit, then Sovatna back. From Luknja wind fit to kill, every so often I squatted so as not to be blown over. eek

On the top caught majestic views, then mists sneaked in. Snow below summit, just enough, tricky on descent esp. in my direction. First time here... enchanted by beauty despite wind, tour unforgettable.
p.s. And yes... autumn in Vrata gorgeous too!

Really one of the nicer tours in those parts. And from the top the view of Triglav and north face really blows you away. nasmeh

Over Sovatna still snow in places, one cable under snow, otherwise no problems on descent nasmeh

and girls who opened Pogačnikov dom yesterday said they came over Sovatna without winter gear nasmeh

I went to Gamsovec via Luknja. To the summit just two snow patches, which do not hinder the ascent. From the top to the saddle past Stenarska vrata up to Križ. There I avoided upper snow with direct ridge climb. Expected ibex in Sovatna, so descended back through Sovatna. There caution at one snow patch to cross it. No more issues.
Re ibex, I wasn't wrong and spent time with them. Best
