Brana

Yesterday towards Brana... from Okrešelj towards Kamnik Saddle, when the last "zigzag" part ends, there's a snowfield to the "wall" or secured path... ice axe handy because of avalanche debris, awkward entry to the chain.. path further dry, no issues.

Today early morning on Brana. For crossing it's good to have ice axe. Entered the wall left of the path and went up like some gully. No snow. Need to watch where to step.

Down the path. Right when the cables start, they are covered with snow. Ice axe mandatory. Crossings to me very awkward and exposed, little room to maneuver in case of a slip. In between to bypass snow, some climbing too.

Can you avoid the snow crossing by going under it on scree?

It was possible last week, then up the right edge but where the cables are there's still about 3 m of snow on the path, a bit annoying.. then not on the path but turn right earlier and reach the ridge 30 m from the path.... maybe they've trodden it better by now and of course less snow than last Saturday

Oi... it's still not clear to me where on the left you entered the wall, did you cross that junction or go under the snow and turn left on the right ridge?? If you look at that pic I posted 1 pic above...

We went on the path to Turska gora and some 10 m from the snow patch on that path when already quite to the right under Brana turned straight up. Nice to walk on grassy ledges... then under snow far right to the edge, still quite free and soon reach the marked path to Brana...
cheers

If you're asking me where I went left... I crossed all snowfields to the Brana-Turska gora junction. From there left up - according to your pic like a diagonal from that junction to the upper left corner of the pic nasmeh

Maybe someone who wandered around Kamniško sedlo knows how the path to Planjava is?

Not true, knap was on Sunday 08.06. from Srebrno sedlo to Planjava and descent to Kamniško sedlo. Didn't need any of it. Don't mislead with assumptions!

@ Juš someone needs it, someone doesn't, it depends on the conditions that change during the day. Given the snow conditions in the mountains, it's good to have all three with you.

As Juš wrote, I went across there. There's still quite some snow, winter gear YES, decide on its use on the terrain.

Pics from today,, so you won't be smart, Špikec.
It's possible you don't need anything, or early in the morning it's still a bit frozen.
