LG, when you find "frozen ground" on Tinky's photos, you'll be right, of course. (I think it'd be hard to find anyone using crampons and poles on ice.)

Don't mock rules from various instructors, alpinists, rescuers... But take that previous p.s. into account

I agree with LG too... especially helmet, most injuries from falls, slips back on back where helmet protects occiput and back of head, then falling rocks... one key thing taught in AO schools... Brana in winter one deadliest in Slovenia.

Again with this mountain danger! Mountains aren't dangerous, what nonsense!

They really aren't if you have knowledge, fitness, strength, right weather, snow conditions and gear... from the couch in summer they really aren't, let alone in winter...

LG and other anon users, I thought I wouldn't respond to your comments. I've been to Brana at least 30 times, 3 times this year already, and I've also turned back at the saddle and Todi too because conditions just didn't allow going further. All three of us had crampons, ice axes, because you can only judge conditions on site if you're there, don't tell me from the couch what and how to use gear. Snow was breaking through in places, ice just a sample. Regards and safe steps wherever you are.

Tinky, this wasn't aimed at you, general debate of course... when someone really stands by their own, even if most know how and what... regarding accidents based on my experience you know when they most often happen... routine...

Wrong world. LG, who advocates safe movement in the mountains, came out as the biggest daredevil. Regards

Interesting about all this is that Ljubitelj gora about a year ago claimed that gear is overrated. For learning you don't need various expensive courses, but watching a few videos on YouTube and practice around the house is enough.

Kamniški občan (1983), author Cene Griljc Eighteen have already died on this mountain. Most in winter. Each of the dead wanted only to its summit and nothing more. A really big toll for such modest wishes. Who is to blame for it. Brana certainly not. Calls from this mountain are too frequent. Mountain rescuers think a lot about them and seek answers. Mountains are not to blame, they are as in their original state, only man conquers them more and more and they conquer man. So we people are changing. If in life we do many things at any cost, then don't do that in the hills. In the mountains, there is some risk in every ascent, so unprepared and in improper conditions we want a goal that without even greater risk is not achievable. Reaching the summit is something elevated, forcing to the summit at any cost and die for nothing, that is irresponsible and crazy. This is no longer alpinism and who does so is not an alpinist. Many who died on Brana overestimated their strength and experience and it would be right that these victims be a lesson to us and not fear of mountains.

Who seeks the goal will remain empty, when he reaches it. Who seeks, but finds the path, will always carry the goal within. ( Nejc Zaplotnik ) The mountain is not crazy, crazy is the one, who goes up. Ah, where though....., come on, give him shit. Crazy is the one, who doesn't go up and there in the valley gets bored and lonely. Life is perfect and therefore unpredictable. Good luck

en-goldy, don't talk nonsense, especially not about who is and who isn't alpinist. I knew quite a few alpinists who unfortunately are gone, and certainly at least some, if not most, went to the limits or even beyond. If you've never experienced the pleasure of pushing to life's limits, don't judge those who do it.

SamoK, I think there's no sense arguing with you, but you could check that the article was written by mountain rescuer Cene Griljc in Kamniški občan, I just forwarded it and have nothing to do with the article's content. So I think you're talking nonsense and it would be polite to apologize.
