My girlfriend and I use Black Diamond SABRETOOTH CLIP and they are in the same price range (maybe even cheaper, since you get 10% discount if PZS member, cash)..
They look something like this..

Interested in opinion, Petzl crampons two versions, first with rubber front and automatic rear binding or second with wire front and automatic rear. Which is better, safer.

That depends a lot on what boots you have, but you mean semi-automatic and classic crampons!

Boots are Meindl made for automatic crampons, just interested in front part of crampons, front bail, where we put front of boot-toes, can be plastic-rubber or wire, rear clips automatically into prepared notch on boot.
Just interested if front rubber or metal-wire is better.

If you can fit automatic crampons, don't complicate and get them, I think that's the safest option. On those, front is wire which is lower to fit into prepared notch on boot. Most newer semi-automatics have plastic front bail, that's fine too, but if you get some with wire bail, my opinion no big difference. Now hurry to the mountains, snow, ice waitingmežikanje.

Fully automatic crampons with wire front suitable only for matching boots (like you describe) and can't use e.g. with summer boots (for rear notch). As for fitting on boots with front and rear notches, no big difference, maybe with front bails safer against accidental removal. With automatics it can happen, esp if not optimally adjusted, that they come off front, which can be unpleasant. So if you have summer boots with rear notch, I'd take semi-automatics, since usable also in summer.
Good luck

If they are not optimally adjusted, there's also a possibility that any crampons come off, not just the ones you're describing. Meaning any crampons must be optimally adjusted and there are no problems.!

Lately semi-automatics are used because over time the front groove for the wire slowly gets destroyed due to shoe use. If the shoe is still ok, only the groove damaged you can still use semi-automatic crampons.

Yes, with shoes for semi-automatic crampons the rear groove can get destroyed, what about half?velik nasmehzavijanje z očmimežikanje

There are also regular Petzl crampons for sale, front has plastic basket (same system as semi-automatics), rear also plastic basket with loops. All connected nicely with strap through holes, strap through loops and tighten. Never loosens on its own and usable for any shoe. No need for notches here and they come off easily, pull tab by loops and strap loosens... No wisdoms and complications...

Rear groove only sports climbers who like to hack the heel when climbing destroy. velik nasmeh

Look purely practical, often bang into hard ice, climb mix on slabs, kick hidden rocks under snow, etc.

Flora, dry them well, it'll be ok. Don't leave them wet in some bag or similar.. take them out, maybe wipe a bit with cloth, shouldn't be problem for them mežikanje

Near the parking lot and around the car there can also be salt from gritting. When I get home, I take them out of the bag or pouch, rinse them with lukewarm water, and until the next use I don't put them in the bag at all. I also rinse the bag, dry it from one side and the other, and do the same with the pouch; they can't rust.

I just recently bought crampons myself and since Black Diamond Sabertooth crampons looked very nice to me too, I came across interesting info about them. Sabertooth ones look very nice but that stainless is stronger than CrMo steel is a marketing scam or I don't even know how such a renowned brand allows selling crap to people on such an important thing as crampons. Proof of how Sabertooths start cracking or even fully break is on the following link: http://rafalandronowski.wordpress.com/2011/02/15/broke-my-crampons/
Those who have them, check them regularly, well actually all must. velik nasmeh

Yes, I read that too, unfortunately after I already bought them. Obviously material flaw, so attention definitely in place. But must say breaks happened on first revision of these crampons (first revisions also those on link above) and new revision which I have too (bought last fall) has more "meat" around critical spot under toes. For new Sabertooth version no break reports found yet, but all this doesn't leave good feeling and thus regular crampon checks in place.

Ah, one more, break reports refer to both PRO and CLIP version.

Sorry to disappoint you, but even newer models break.

yep I was also thinking about buying these, but after some research, I decided to buy others exactly because of these technical issues reported with the mentioned crampons. Hope you'll have more luck! Safe steps.

I'm wondering if anyone knows whether Black Diamond has fixed the issue described above
