I also hiked on 12.01. on Donačka gora, my favorite Slovenian mountain. Went from Sveti Jurij past homesteads to Sv. Donat, then up the unmarked path to the summit. Lots of mud, esp. between last farms and Donat. But the unmarked path covered in leaves adds to that tough ascent. Due to melting snow also very slippery and muddy in the gully between cliffs. Just before the summit a cramp in my leg hit me, so down via road, not through forest from Donat.
And yes, Stankoju, almost missed each other at top, when I headed down it was 16:25 on my watch... But that view with Boč, Kislica, Stenica and Konjiška gora like islands in a sea of clouds, wonderful!

On Donačka today quite cold, a bit of snow to taste and microcrampons recommended.

Just back from Donačka gora wrapped in thick fog and light snow flurries, path quite slippery but with microcrampons no problem. Went up to clear the spruce and nativity scene and all succeeded.

Yesterday also at this summit. Didn't expect Styrians to have such nice hills too. Went from Sveti Jurij, returned via gentler route to Rudi's hut. Recommend crampons.

Today on mountain. Route: Medgore-drot-east peak-central peak-Rudi hut-Medgore. Extremely icy path from east peak to central peak, crampons mandatory and lots of caution. Weather to cheer, no breeze, strudel in hut. Lp Lajči

On February 8, Slovenian cultural holiday, we invite you to the traditional hike to Donačka gora, the 15th in a row this year. Control stamp for all hikers from 8 to 12 at the summit.

This morning jumped to the top to check on the path. Weather cloudy and preparing for snow, path was dry, temp at top slightly below zero. Lp. Lajči

This morning went to check how much new snow there is and there's not much, more for show but just enough that caution is needed on the path due to slipping, crampons recommended.

Today jumped to the top and to the hut for coffee. Started at Sv. Jurij over Vrhe pass, where real winter starts. Small crampons recommended, because path from the ladder onwards to top and to hut is icy. Weather cloudy, temp at top -5. Lp.

Today on Donačka some new snow for nice winter idyll. But the path is quite demanding because under the new snow the path is icy and slip risk is high so good to have crampons on boots.

16.04. again on Donačka, my favorite mountain in the country. Went up from Kupčinje peak past Rudi's hut to the eastern top. When I went first time last year I turned back at the wire rope, a bit due to exhaustion (didn't know the path) a bit due to fear (it's quite steep that wire). Now I mastered it, but must admit I would have quit if Mr. Slavko hadn't come and given me the needed extra courage. Thanks to him for that. Down via Frolich.
Donačka Gora is really wonderful. I love it a lot.
Anyway, one question. What's the name of the mountain between Vitanje, Stranice and Beli Potok? Highest peak 1091 m. Some call it Stenica, some Mala gora, some Kislica. I was on it, but can't find it on that forum.

Early in the morning along Stoperška path to the summit, where it was windless and 13 degrees. Path dry and pleasant for walking. Today PD Rogatec had a work action covering the roof of the annex at Rudi's hut, which I gladly joined. It's nice now, come check it out! Lp
