Yesterday (Friday) start from Vrhe pass at 9.00 via eastern summit to western summit of Donačka Mountain. Steepness in gully before and from junction (Žetale, Rudi's hut, Vrhe, eastern summit) quite respectable, doesn't let up to the top (no ropes). Connecting path between E and W summit interesting and really engages the brain to watch where you step. At summit no other writing but pencil. After one-hour sunbathing on top, descent to Rudi's hut for very good ričet and hop drink. Descent on path around SW ridge of Donačka Mountain past St. Donat chapel to starting point. Pleasant hike we did first time together, due to great impressions believe not last. LP Panda

...These paths are a bit short but surely long enough for pleasant walk together... Summits Boč, Donačka Mountain... in Styrian land definitely conquered, nice talks with great views from Styrian peaks, sunbathing, choice food and drink,... what more could one want - primal essence and purpose of hiking as experiencing time and space... definitely congrats. Today (05.06.) very hot on Donačka... Went on southern unmarked path (Sveti Jurij - homesteads - Sveti Donat - unmarked path through forest and rocks - summit). Back via Frolich and after rest and snacks at Rudi's hut down road back to Sveti Jurij. Very hot and humid day, but dewy meadows full of dew. Summit relatively poor view, no wind anywhere...

I went after lajcicar too, it got hot then at Rudi's. I met modras on the summit, no greeting and very quickly we went each our own way. L.p.

See how it helped you, your knee surely doesn't hurt anymore after meeting modras.

Yes Lajcicar: the storm from about 14 days ago did its thing. The path over the eastern summit is also "damaged" and hanging down...........

On a wonderful morning I looked towards the summit and around the mountain to the starting point in Medgore. Weather sunny, path dry and pleasant for hiking. Greetings!lajči

I was today again on Donačka gora. From Kupčinje vrh to Rudi and then to Eastern peak on wire or cable. Then to summit and down via Frolich. After refreshment at Rudi back to Kupčinje vrh... Pity for the rain, which slightly hindered the ascent. When rain stopped, wind shook water from trees and like raining again...

Today I was again on Donačka after a long time. Can't some really be told anything anymore, they destroy paths or make shortcuts. I suggest they join some voluntary action of path markers who keep paths in order.

Čebelar, I completely agree with you, our Donačka isn't high anyway and here they make shortcuts to the top and down

|
| panda15. 08. 2011 21:36:12 |
Who makes those shortcuts?

Real hikers surely don't do that.

Today I went barefoot from Rudi's hut to the summit and back. Weather sunny, path dry and just right for bare feet. Regarding shortcuts; if they followed the rules a bit, which are nicely written on the big sign, there wouldn't be shortcuts. Nice greetings! Lajči

The path to Donačka is super maintained. Shortcuts are completely unnecessary. Whoever goes to Donačka via shortcuts is anti-hiker, nature destroyer, obviously someone who cares little for anything else but their own ass. The highest possible penalty for such freaks would be too little. LP!

Yes, many times on the hills I complained about "turbo hikers", who in their race trample all off-trails and unmarked paths. And they usually hit back right away that this isn't nature destruction. For me and morally it's the same as riding crossers (mot.selves?), hunting etc. Does the whole hill have to turn into a muddy off-trail before these heroes wake up.

Hello lajcicar, what did you screw up that you had to go barefoot to Donačka? That's real penance. Nice greetings and good luck

@lajcicar: surely you don't have "flatfoot", that you're leveling it barefoot up to Donačka?
