The trail to Donačka Mountain is really full of surprises.
I didn't know that:
- it geographically belongs to the Karavanke
- it was the first marked hiking trail in Slovenia (1853)
- it was the third peak in Slo. where our flag flew (1991)
- it is a remnant of beech primeval forests in Slovenia

The trail is nicely arranged, and many fallen beeches across it provide variety.
Nice day, lots of people, in Rudi's hut "peer".

Today again on Donačka Mountain. Start from Sv. Jurij, past the chapel of Sv. Donat on unmarked path through rock cut and then serpentine to the top. Down via Frolich and through town back. Too hot, view barely to Boč...

So today from Kupčinji Vrh to check the summit, then to hut for raw pogača.velik nasmeh

Today for the first time to Donačka Mountain on the path starting at Vrhe pass and going along the eastern side until it meets Jože Žetalski path. Then path from Rudi hut joins. Up the wire to Eastern peak, then to the "real" Donačka peak.
Down on unmarked path branching a bit down to the east from summit in serpentines to rock. Then to chapel of sv. Donata. And down to pass.

But now reading description on Hribi.net it seems the path is a bit changed... no shack seen, road not left, goes to last farms then into forest quickly to path from sv. Donata chapel. Marks well drawn, can't miss...

One question... is there any path to summit between Donačka and Žetale (think Resenik, not sure...). and is it worth visiting?

In a wonderful morning my colleague and I rushed to the summit over the wire. Trail a bit too dry, chestnuts already, žganci excellent in hut too, so worth going up. Cheers!

Today after a long break again on Donačka gora. Path is well trodden, which indicates large number of visitors to the mountain. At the top we got a light shower of mush.

In pitch darkness and moonlight glow I rushed to the top. Up there strong wind blowing, path dry, -1 at top, +4 at hut. Whoever has no chestnuts, go get them now on Donačka.velik nasmehNice greetings!

@čebelar and @lajcicar, I'm not sure if we can jump into PD Ptuj cabbage, because after the last change they nailed a plate up on the pole that only PD Ptuj members change the flag.mežikanje

Today from Kupčinji vrh over cables to the top and down to Rudi's hut for tea and a shot of home-made. Path due to fallen leaves and moisture a bit slippery, especially roots dangerous for slipping. On Donačka today search and rescue, looking for granny Nenavelik nasmehvelik nasmehvelik nasmeh

On a holiday day my colleague and I straight from night shift dashed to Donačka. Up over cables and past Sv. Donat and Rudi's hut back to Kupčinji vrh. Path is quite slippery.

Today from thick fog to sunshine from Medgor via the wire to the eastern summit, central summit, western summit, from there along the standard path to the hut and further along the lower path to Medgor. Path excellent for walking, sunshine on the summits, temperature +7. Greetings!

Today on Donačka winter idyll, summit in fog so no views, path whitened by hoarfrost and a bit slippery.

Yesterday with buddy on the summit where it was quite windy, otherwise sunny. Path to the hut snowy and slippery, so need to be careful on descent. Nice greetings from below Donačka!
today we started at the school in Žetale1

some mushrooms can still be found here and there4

the descent towards home was a bit unpleasant8
