14.03.2012. After three weeks back on Donačka Mountain. Went up the unbeaten path from St. Jurij. Down via Frolich. Last time up took three hours in deep snow, now snow almost gone. But erosion damaged it, path ruined in a few spots...

To the hairy ones maybe already, admit we haven't been to Donačka for a while, now Boč is a bit more current. Which is this unused path, we always start at St. Jurij ... maybe branches off earlier, since the path we take is marked. LP!

Family trip to Donačka Mountain went wonderfully. From Rudi's hut along lower path to east summit. On ascent over secured section kids were huffing hard.From there along ridge to west summit. Weather great, visibility so-so. Descent via Froelich path to hut. Cheers

I only checked today what Marx replied, no time over weekend, but yesterday after lunch we made time for Donačka Mountain. Start from main road in Čermošnje, over the wire to top and of course to Rudi and back up again to top, (hikers looked at us weirdly because something didn't add up and back same way. Wonderful afternoon, though it was past three at summit, still quite a few hikers around. But something really annoying we met first time here this year, cross-country runners speeding on forest paths - even hiking ones, and nobody says anything. Wonder what local mountaineering club and all Donačka lovers did about this issue. Seems little or nothing, since the two guys calmly came to hut for drinks. LP!

Got any pic of those cross-country runners so I can send it to the association in Ljubljana? What they've done to the path, they're not normal!!! Lp!

Photos, camera was at home, as for the path, it's really a living horror, haven't encountered such torn-up shortcuts yet. I warned three hikers to walk on the marked path, they looked a bit weird and then commented: "Shall we go back?" "Sure we can," was my reply. Maybe more warning signs should be posted. There was quite a crowd in front of the hut, when those two gentlemen came out of the hut, I was shocked, I admit, then chatted a bit with the waitress about this. On the path you could see they made a track in the clear-cut area.

Today in foggy morning on Donačka, otherwise when we were at the top the sun already peeked out a bit. Path quite muddy, but we wanted the long-awaited rain and that's how it is when it rains.

With a friend we used the nice morning to visit Donačka. At the starting point we meet friend "Čebelar", who tells us he's going to check if Avrikelj is already blooming and yes it is. The path is nice and dry.

Avrikelj is already in full bloom, but mostly in hard-to-reach places, today I found one flower that grows only on Donačka mountain and neighboring Resenik, JUVANOV NETRESK

First time on Donačka mountain yesterday. Path was dry and without features. Every now and then rustling in the undergrowth. Usually some birds, this time mice were noticed. Looks like they have primeval forest peace here

Hot afternoon jump to the top from sv. Jurij, along the old Roman path. Back down on the standard path barefoot. Path dry, hot like a dog. Greetings!

For all those who rush through shortcuts, excerpt from the law on hiking trails: A fine of 100 to 1,200 euros is imposed for the offense of an individual: 1. who uses a hiking trail in such a way that damage is done to the land through which it passes or to the fauna and flora and other fixtures along it or endangers other users (fourth paragraph of Article 3);

Since I visit Donačka mountain often, I'd just say that such shortcuts have been made, it's horrifying, everything is torn up. But one must also think that the forest owner or some area must give consent to agree to the use of his land for a hiking trail. What if he's had enough of the forest being destroyed like this? LP!

today, 17.05., quick ascent via unofficial path Sv.Jurij-Sv.Donat-path with white marks which reaches the difficult rocky section and then switchbacks upwards. At the top very nice and distant view, Grintovec Ojstrica Raduha and Peca all under snow, also Veliki vrh on Pohorje is snow-covered... Back via Frolich and refreshment at Rudi back down to the vehicle. Shortcuts are not a cancer sore only on Slovenian mountains... Some on mountains in NW Croatia are unnecessary (e.g. shortcuts on Konj/Ivanščica), some after forced use are marked as official path (part of path 2a on Kalnik). For horror there's also the case from Samoborsko gorje, where unnamed shortcut from Novo Selo Okičkog turned into faster difficult path to the top Popovdolska pećina...
