Today circular tour Planina pod Golico - Rožca - Klek - Golica. Conditions were good, fog on Golica. From Rožca to Jekljevo Saddle the path was very muddy.

Today I headed to Golica. Snow starts above Fenz. Path to hut (summer) nice and trodden. Went to Krvavka (20-30 cm snow), path to Golica not trodden, due to strong wind did not go to Golica. Can reach it without ice axe and crampons. Views fantastic. Winter definitely here.

Edina, this Golica never disappoints. For me nicest hike from Pusti vrh, over Ptičji vrh always along ridge, then descent to Jekljevo sedlo and return on lower path to hut and further on lower path to Pusti vrh. On this path you can see golden eagle too. If a bit windy, even better, more wild. Yes, for me always nice! Still glad for your greeting. best regards.

Info for hikers who want to visit Golica in the next few days: yesterday four made a good track from Planina pod Golico over Markljev rovt, Sedlo Suha, Krvavka, Golica and further over Jekljevo sedlo and saddle under Klek to Jeseniška planina.

Jovan, you probably had crampons and ice axe? And also - with the saddle under Klek you probably meant Rožca?

Today on Golica - up the summer path past the hut, down via Krvavka, Suha saddle and Markljeva planina. Up to about 1300 m above Betel icy, then snow all the way, except the sledge run (icy like on a skating rink). Path well trodden, conditions excellent. Small crampons were sufficient from winter gear.

.... Janez, were you at the top? I even knew you years ago?

Yes of course! You seemed familiar to me, but I was too shy to ask, plus you didn't have your little dogs with you.

...You also seemed familiar to me, that's why I asked if you're going further. I knew there's quite a bit of snow at this altitude so Ira stayed home. The path needs to be well trodden, otherwise she just stands and refuses to go anywhere.

Hello! Has anyone been to Golica recently? What are the conditions like, especially if going up e.g. along the ridge? Crampons/snowshoes? Thanks for reply

Today on Golica - weather cold in morning, then inversion and very warm and windless. On summer path to below Krvavka recommend microspikes, then traverse left to Golica ridge and under ridge to top. For this part used classic crampons and ice axe.

Wow, Edina, nice tour you did. So what if no summit! Important is the path you walk and if it's pleasant and enjoyable, worth as much as summit. You were on ridge, it belongs to Golica, so tour worth as if fully done. I like that you judged safety more important than summit itself!
