Yes, it was still very nice. At the start purely springlike among flowers and listening to the bird concert, up top as if winter and spring were shaking hands. I invite you to repeat it, all the others too, because Golica is always beautiful. Happy trails

Yes, I've already been mulling going by that winter variant, since I haven't walked it yet. It's decided!

Today from Betel via summer path to hut, then Krvavka and along the ridge to Golica. Yesterday a few cm of snow fell. Walking conditions very good (cloudy, snow not crusting), no winter gear needed. On the ridge had Edina's dilemma in mind, but completely safe in my opinion.

Today again on Golica - to hut winter up, summer down, from hut summer path (lots of mud), descent from saddle on snow. Ridge still pure winter, morning snow hard, so ice axe quite useful.

What is the path along the Golica ridge like, to start e.g. at Pusti Rovt and go along the ridge to the summit? Yesterday I went to Belska Planina, from where I had nice views of Golica and as I saw, the sunny side is dry, but I don't know what the actual path is like?

IMO, from Suha saddle to Krvavka it's quite dry (east side), descent from Krvavka to saddle before Golica ridge almost dry, further along ridge to summit snow everywhere. In the morning it's hard, so for the last part below summit, steep slope, recommend ice axe (maybe without on Austrian side). Descending from Golica to hut recommend on snow, summer zigzag very muddy.

Today's afternoon Golica, up winter-direct path, from summit continued along ridge to Ptičji Vrh. Descended over Markeljev Rovt.

Yes, they are already blooming, but not yet in full bloom. The hut keepers are very friendly. On top we were completely alone. No crowds at all. But you saw nothing, there was thick fog. lp

Hello. Can someone tell me approximately when the narcissi will be on Golica this year, what are the current conditions like? Our mountaineering club is organizing a hike to Golica, we want to catch the narcissi in full bloom. We plan 24. or 31.5 Thanks!

If the weather stays as warm as these days, I suggest 24.5.

... Fog, very strong wind, everything was there today, despite such a forecast. From the Suha saddle along the ridge, narcissuses are still very small, buds not peeking from the greenery yet. In the first wave a bit above the saddle, almost none yet. Under Mala Golica and Krvavka mostly just the green part, flowers still in buds and very small. Almost no blooming ones. Maybe in 2-3 weeks, if there is sun and no more snow falls. They will bloom around 25 May. Janez, have you signed up for tomorrow? Friendly hut staff under Golica invites you to visit them. Bojana and Kati await you, you are always welcome. http://jelenkamenmajdag.blogspot.com/2015/05/ko-se-vremenarji-zmotijo.html

Last year I was on Golica for the first time. We went from Planina pod Golico. We didn't see large slopes with blooming daffodils. Which starting point do you most recommend to see the largest daffodil slopes? Thanks

... BrankaM.. I like it best when climbing from the Suha saddle. You have them in front of your eyes all the time and you can descend to them as you please. Can also be in the opposite direction. Also along the forest edge they are nicely visible. Definitely "almost necessary" to or from the Suha saddle. On the top there are none.
