New Year should be started with a mountain visit and so it was with us, although there wasn't much strength left from New Year's Eve . We like visiting Golte and if you also wave to "our" Janez, we're even happier. There's little snow, but I think enough for proper fun. On the path watch out not to fly on your rear, as it's slippery from packed snow and ice.

In the late afternoon after work we went to check how much snow there was on Golte. Around 4 pm a real winter idyll awaited us. The fog had almost dispersed. New snow about 20-30 cm. With skis we headed towards Kal and then a bit through the forest to Boskovec. As dusk was falling, we turned and headed to Stari stani. In the dark we skied to the car. Those who will be up here tomorrow will be greeted by a real winter fairy tale.

Mozirska hut-Hleviška planina-Stari stani-Medvedjak-Mozirska hut. On Friday afternoon we did another ski touring stroll around Golte. Warm, southern snow and even less of it. On Medvedjak we awaited sunset and then skied in dusk over empty ski slope to Mozirska hut. Really nice loop trail. Only on Hleviška planina some pristine white remained.

Well some new snow fell on Golte too. On Monday quite a few of us were up there admiring the beauties... Thanks "forum guy" for nice chat

Stanko encouraged me and I went right away to check what's happening there??
I put some of Janez's brandy next to the medico for those connoisseurs who know where this spot is. Take a sip... Wouldn't make too much advertising so chamois still have some peace..
Spent a few days in the nice surroundings of Mozirska planina. What more to write? Now at home looking out the window I see cliffs I like to climb....

It was forecasted already for the SPOT time, but luckily only some powder on the spruce tops.

@turbo also for us winter evenings will be shorter reliving memories of hikes in short sleeves, and we're glad someone else will be with us.

On Saturday (17.11.) again a short trip to Mozirska, circular on the Golte Paths; while a "cover" of fog hovered over the valley, on top we enjoyed warm sun rays, unfortunately also quite strong wind; hikers extremely few this time. Due to the previous heavy rainfall there were plenty of small ponds giving a magical touch to the views, but the path itself was mostly not muddy due to freezing; hut at Teh plots closed, but in its lee still nice "martinčkanje" in the sun, therefore even more fun in Mozirska hut, where we were treated to harmonious singing accompanied by guitar, and friendly words of the helpful caretaker; lp

When Janez greets us from the mountains
and attaches pics as suits him
it is warmly close to all hearts.
Whoever knows Janez from below Golte,
knows how he loves to sense mountain air,
and that up there he has his second home.

Vito, I really was in my "second home" and sat there for a good hour that passed like a moment, it was so nice.
Jelica, about the hut keepers I'd rather not. Doesn't really pull me to the hut right now,...
