And some more "classic" snapshots from yesterday's jaunt around Golte. A bit cold for almost July already

Yesterday we headed to Golte, plucked the strawberries, sniffed the red raspberries, greeted the foals and calves and at the end toasted with Janez.

Like that, somehow sleepy, lonely, here and there someone... As beautiful as they are, too few visit them. Full of little flowers, dandelions (now is just right). Pleasant hour of chat at Žlajfar's. Family and friendly relaxation and of course a bit our own way... can't go without that and signing the book... and without a drop of rain. lp

All of us in our little group were one day late, i.e. the next day. We were all very surprised by the many pics of "this spring's flowers" - hope flowers really this year's, winter was long and very snowy. For Golte visit we decided unanimously first nice weekend with stable weather, full sun forecast, nice views far around. If not given, all in vain - better luck next. Hope some of us with cameras, help with laptop and follow your forwarded pics to mountain lovers. For us all hope nice day to remember long. /Forecast not best this weekend! Best regards. otiv @

@amarilis, flowers have no voice to call you and say here I am, but you must come to them. Flowers don't grow on the path so you can see them and you sometimes need to look around and climb if needed. Best regards!

Žekovec/Keber/Boskovec/Javorca/Mozirska koča/Gosteče/Žekovec When I cross the courtyard of the Keber farm in the morning sun, the phone rings. Janez: "how far have you crawled?" I tell him the location and in a few minutes he pulls up behind me. He parks above "Rajski kotiček – Gosteče http://rajski-koticek.si/ more on that later). We bite into the steep slope along the forest track on his paths. Sweating behind, I watch him lift his shoes high so he doesn't scoop up all the morning dew . Without a break (just a sip of water in between) we follow him to Boskovec. I roughly know where we're moving, but I haven't walked most of the path here yet. At the "tower" we sign in and head to Javorca. Fog awaits us and as we sit on the benches and check in the log we discuss further activities. Far below I spot the tower, the cairn on it (there are tons of these things here) and without hesitation I ask: "is it tough to climb up there?" That's kind of how this cairn and the tower under it stands out. (in that instant it becomes sooo, a bit sad... ) "No, let's go check it out..." I'm a bit concerned, I'm not a climber like Janez. Then variants start dropping... No, that one won't be hard... or decide. Not too easy either... Well, let's go this one (it's also a bit hard, wet grass, rocks...), if you can't, turn back. Tell me if it's not... A wonder of variants and connection systems of "paths" awaits me that morning. I've gotten used to some jargon and if Janez says: "it's rough!" then it's usually really a bit tricky, if "very rough" then turn back... Here, no rough stuff, but nicely cleared and boldly routed. Something for everyone... Steep grassy cirques, rocky walls, forest slopes and even climbing a tree to conquer the exit from the little tower (of course, cairn on it). We check the state of the cairns, in between we go see if Filip is home?? He's not !! We greet "vietnamca" and steeply down again. A bunch of Janez's variants embarrasses me because you don't "slack"... I doubt I could repeat all of today's variants alone?? Then some "asphalt" and past the "PAMPERING" center (Gosteče - http://rajski-koticek.si/). Here Janez sprawls on the lounger and when he gets a cold beer from the owner of these beauties too (well, I got one too - thanks!) I'm worried if we'll even make it to the valley this afternoon. Nice here.... Just some highlander girl in bikini without "rucksack" olala... still missing... . Time is urging us and despite everything (didn't hear "it's rough" anymore!! ), we finally descend to the pond... Nice morning!!

Obviously a pleasant morning. And I see Janez surprised you, since he doesn't only climb peaks, but also loungers

In the morning I look out the window towards Golte, grab my backpack and onto the moped. Need to make use of the nice day before the forecasted thunderstorms. In half an hour I'm at Janez's, who's immediately up for action. When we arrive at the "parking spots" we use for hikes, there's a snag. We park next to a pile of logs (Janez figures they're fresh). How right he was... Soon we meet a full log truck (surely he's not unloading there?), we already hear loud honking. Janez back and moves the car higher. Idea comes for Bela peč (those are the walls above the bend when the road climbs to Alpine gardens). On the way we meet cyclist Tonika who's already descending to the valley. We invite her along, unfortunately she's in a hurry to the valley. We aim to clean and check the "path" above the cliffs. The "path" is in pretty bad shape due to winter ice damage. Probably no one been here for a long time? We clear as we go and climb quickly. Soon at the hunting hut where we rest a bit and on to Medvednjak. From there to Žlajfar, a bit more ascent and view towards Stari stan. We look around, descend lower and check arnica patches. On sunny spots it's already blooming out, on shady ones just opening flowers. Then towards Istje, Boskovec and soon at the bivouac. Short rest, eyeing the glider and pilot up close... From here to the hut for refreshment. Few visitors... From hut to Mesarska lopa and down here through wild little-visited world to road and transport. Cheers
