I'm not such a pessimist, people are stubborn.

The path through Hudi graben is passable, poorly maintained and quite demanding — I descended there last year. I assume it's marked as closed on mapzs so no one accidentally descends to the alpine pasture and finds out there that all paths further to the valley are closed.

I hear about incredible prices, only the rich go there now or those who go to the mountains once a year

For me huts exist only as annoying objects in nature where some collect money from naive hikers! They get nothing from me, since I don't need them, I've been going to mountains for years and so far had everything necessary with me. The nicest is in mountains in autumn then huts are mostly already closed. These are no longer mountain huts that would provide shelter to hikers in distress and advice if needed, because new-age tenants mostly have no clue about mountaineering and are there only for their own profit! Sadly modern Greed has also greatly affected mountaineering societies! And nice mountaineering greetings! Tone

The state that is greedy with taxes, hut owners demanding high rents and costs, then also those employed here preferably s.p. who pay usurious taxes, contributions gross gross + some employed etc. At the end such a price comes out. The one working in the hut is guilty of everything at the endzavijanje z očmi the most diligent and most exposed to people criticizing prices and services. Then it's hard to get staff.

I don't have much knowledge about these problems in huts and their operation, but why wouldn't what @ljubitelj gora wrote be a sensible reason?

To me the caretakers in huts don't act like they are swimming in money and super rich from working in the hut. Probably if these usurious prices were set due to greed of caretakers, it would show on them and they'd have a huge Mercedes SUV parked at the cable car below (like various restaurant bosses nasmeh ) besides that there would probably be a huge rush and lots of interest for caretaker job because the earnings are so huge... but as we know it's the opposite mrk pogled

Prices are determined by PZS and the societies managing the huts. Caretaking teams are there "only" for implementation.

My opinion is that rents from PDs are too high...huts were built by volunteers in the past and materials donated by various companies. Now after so many years when huts' lifespan expires and big investments are needed, they charge very high rents...with money collected over years, even though some goes to regular hut maintenance some remains...where that money remains only PD leadership knows. And on top huts are becoming hotels, especially newer ones...which is NOT the basic purpose of mountain huts, which PZS also forgets. Huts were basically meant for providing basic overnight stays during longer tours and basic food offer...
I think PZS lost compass long ago... That Kredarica is already reserved in first 3 months of year for off-season is absurd for me, I'm a person who goes to mountains with love for rock and nature, who looks at weather and conditions not time...
Real hikers should step together and tell PZS leadership where to lead direction of mountaineering and hiking here and not individuals who lost the feeling...
GOOD LUCK AND SAFE IN THE MOUNTAINS!

Offer with prices on the "balcony Gesause" at the Grabneralm hut. The hut is always full of hikers, not only on weekends.....

When a storm approaches or a health problem arises you know you can seek refuge in the officially open hut: that's its main value, not a cheap bar...

n3jc.. Tone Škarja would agree with you too. Hut is hut. Not just shelter in bad weather. It's a pity that in Slovenia it's mostly about fleecing visitors. And yes, we have nice huts too.. unfortunately there aren't many a bit higher up.

Currently on Corsica,
of course went to the mountains, which incidentally are very beautiful and have excellent rock. Well, price of beer 2.5 dcl is 5€, sweet drink in can 2.5 dcl 3€. Hut accessibility like ours, meaning supply by mule or helicopter. Let me say 2.5 dcl beer costs in shop 2.5€. Math tells all. With us beer in shop 1.3€ (0.5l) in hut 6€... not to mention food...
I agree with predecessors, hut should be shelter and lodging, if additionally offers 2-4 dishes it's added value of course at reasonable price! Huts mustn't become inns with lodging as some in PD and PZS think... that's far from values first builders and volunteers had in mind.

Some huts have already become that, many are going that way...
We hikers - Slovenians are powerless here.

One question, which mountain would you say is a bit harder in terms of difficulty than Grintovec from Konc via Streha and Storžič via Škarjev rob.

Brana from Kamniško (if no snow). Mangart via Italian.

To me personally Brana by difficulty seems comparable to Storžič via Škarjev rob (these things are always a bit subjective), but in any case it's a nice route worth hiking and user0310 can use it for gaining experience. Especially nice if going to Kamniško sedlo from Logarska Dolina (that approach is also more demanding than from Kamniška Bistrica).

If someone easily hiked route via Škarjev rob as well as to Brana, they can in my opinion try routes to Bovški Gamsovec via Sovatna and to Storžič through Žrelo (first somewhat easier than second). Both routes well secured, require only easy scrambling, contain very exposed parts (some without protection), so great caution needed and not suitable for vertigo sufferers.

After these routes I would recommend Grebenska to Prisojnik (and descent via Slovenska).
