Medo*: instead of sunglasses which stayed in the backpack this time, would have needed fog glasses. It cleared up when descending, so early hour yesterday wasn't golden. You nicely put stones under rear wheels - I imitated you only halfway - I put stone only under one wheel.

14.6.2009 gorgeous weather. Path to Kokrško sedlo and on to Grintovec dry. Hut at Kokrško already open, yesterday already had quite a few visitors. Summer season started - yupi!

On Saturday quite some cloud over Kamniških, but nice day for walking. Can confirm path dry and two snowpatches from Kokrško sedlo to top can bypass or steps made across. After short doze by stove at Kokrško we went to Kalški greben. Still snow on scree below ridge. Can go under or traverse with ice axe. More for safety. Descended hunters path to Žagana peč. Someone marked path nicely, no orientation issue. Nice day nice path. Cheers, andrej and Janez

Since Saturday pouring like bucket any high mountain thought off. Fresh snow no big hope for ascent either. But went to Češka koča more from curiosity. After warden talk and terrain check still headed to Mlinarsko sedlo. Lots snow Zgornje Ravne right to wall need bit orientation to enter wall. Ropes good snow soon on path. Cross some snow filled gullies some avoidable. Snow not frozen ok walking with ice axe. At Mlinarsko sedlo strong cold wind. Continued cca 20 min but summit constant fog nasty wind more snow turned cca 100m below visibility bad. Summit next time. Descent watched Kočna approach from Češka koča still heavy snow more than to Grintovec. Biggest fun skiing snowfield (boots). Flew great! Jota at hut excellent like all. Best, Andrej and Janez

I plan to set out on the path as soon as the weather stabilizes. I'm curious about the conditions on the path from the cargo cableway (Ravenska Kočna) to Češko koča and then over Mlinarskega sedlo to the top (Frichousova pot) and on the path from Suhadolnika over Kokrskega and Mlinarskega sedlo to the top. Thanks for the replies and best regards!

Well, I was there this weekend but there won't be much new snow, if any it will melt at the first sun rays anyway. If it's your first time on this path, check it first on the mountain list on this site. I made that mistake and it took me an hour to even find the entrance to the wall (climbing part of the path) since the slope at the junction is still full of snow. It is recommended to have an ice axe with you, and if there's no space issue, crampons too because you need to cross 4 short snowfields which are quite exposed - a dead chamois lying in the gully right by the path on the left proves it. The rest of the path is dry, the fixed ropes are in perfect condition, in short the path is super!

mavhar thanks for the reply, so no problems in the wall, I'll just take ice axe and crampons just in case. Best

Solido, you're a real clown too. Not one reply have I read from you that says something smart or a description. Just crowing always and you think you're smart idk, go up there and describe the tour if you're so smart.

Look, Solido, I won't argue here, it's pointless. Anyway, your reply here is just... browse the guide and map... dunno if you can easily help in "such a winter as this was" only with map and guide. Such a mountaineer must know if he's ready for the tour... less experienced probably won't reach up there... think what you want, so it is!

Regarding the gear, Solido is quite right. I also took all the ironmongery to Koštrunove špice, but only needed stiffer boots and an ice axe in those conditions. I was also sliding with the ice axe in hand. First, I want a bit more respect at least for Rok, who created and maintains this forum for us, and that you don't accuse and tangle everywhere.

Well, I just wanted to say how it was up there and what gear is needed! I said ice axe is mandatory.. crampons aren't though since the snow is quite soft and no slip risk (speaking for Friday 19.6 when I was up).. so who knows better about conditions, Solido who was in warm office that day or the one who was up there and actually saw and tested the conditions? just that I wanted to say. but I agree with Viharnik, the wiser one stops...

How strange we are, instead of helping each other with information, we deal with such banal things and senseless quarrels. Anyway I wrote what the conditions were on Sunday, and obviously no one reads that. Good luck, Andrej

Since it's raining probably nothing smarter to do than argue a bit on the forum Verbal information is useful to me, but some picture tells me a lot about conditions too.

On Monday I was at Kokrško sedlo, didn't go further due to weather. From what was occasionally visible, I can say that the conditions Andrej described haven't changed much. Access from Jezersko is probably still quite wintery.

Hi Is it already possible to run to Grintovec from Kamniška Bistrica? The race is already in one month.

Hi Bojan, my colleague and I were up on Thursday (up via Dolge stene, down via streho). There was still quite some fresh snow below the summit, which should have disappeared by now.
