Petra5, mine are still o.k. for now. But I asked them at purchase how it is in case of a warranty claim - the shoes have 1 year warranty.

I suggest Alpina to you. I'm very satisfied, have Teton, wear it summer, winter through. And it is indestructible, for you probably too heavy and not usable. Buy such a shoe that suits you, not brand but one that fits the foot. Tried Merrell, Mendl and La Sportiva, sorry but for mountains overpriced sneakers. Good buy.

Maybe I was too harsh but that was my opinion and experiences. I don't say all nothing but many are.

I wear them (besides others) already third year. Survived everything, back on heel inside lining tore. Colleague same... For me it's shoe for ferratas and wandering local hills. Don't wear in high mountains. Would chafe heel on long use, like son when went to Ojstrica in them. lp

And as for the real title of the section that fits the hiking boots topic, well, maybe better under small ads. Where the shoe chafes. Husband buys new shoes at Iglu, where we shop often, Millet brand, but his size is no longer for sale and won't be this year either. Can someone advise where they might still have such shoes? http://www.iglusport.si/cevlji-visoki-bouthan-gtx or maybe someone is selling them. Of course unused or only 1x.

Check on eBay. There you can often find some good option...

Thanks for the advice, but it's not about a variant, just this specific boot size 41, which Iglu no longer has.

@ viharnik If nothing else, that will really be the next option, maybe feasible next week, thanks for the help, but of course if the boot fits like a glove, it's hard to decide for something else, my boots are also from Iglu's shop and are also in question. They'll last this year.

Leather always molds to the foot if the width is right. More problems with textile boots. Also check out Scarpa Ladakh by the way, which has been highly regarded and comfortable for years. They still have it, I think only at Bokal Sport - Škofja Loka. http://www.scarpa.net/ladakh-gtx.html

Jprim for Fitwell it's worth calling or visiting also Bokal Sport in Škofja Loka. Prices can be better depending on sales sometimes than at K2. I recommend Gojzar, I have the third pair already, only Meindl were better for me than Fitwell. Fitwell wears out sooner based on experience.

Thanks everyone for the tips, now it will definitely be easier to decide where and how. Best regards!

If you're from LJ I recommend a quick visit to Giga Sport. They're closing it and everything is reduced by 40%. They had Meindl.

Primoza, I don't agree with your comment. In this shop I bought quite a few Jack Wolfskin clothes and Meindl Gojzar at reduced price and never regretted it. Jack Wolfskin hiking pants are practically indestructible.

I no longer believe in some sales and discounts myself, it's basically just advertising for the buyer to think, wow, I got the stuff cheap, it was heavily discounted, that's nonsense. A bit of this, a bit of that, , it was and still is. And I wouldn't debate now about hiking boots and brands, although this year it will be 7 years of our mountain trips, let's say real hiking, we have quite some experience with boots, my partner swears by Millet, I by Garmont, that's it ... some discounts in Planika or Alpina - far from real high-mountain boot, they never performed.

Everyone knows best for themselves. After 15 years of hiking I swear by Maindl and Fitwell. Giga Sport is near my work and that's why I often drop by and compare prices with the same items in competing stores. This time it's not about sales but store closing. A colleague bought some swimsuits today for pennies. Apparently it was worth it. But just advising. Do what you want. For mountains everyone has to gain experience themselves which boot fits their feet best. If Planika or Alpina suits someone, fine. As long as they don't rush into high mountains in flipflops. I even allow that. As long as they don't endanger me or others or need rescue. Don't know why you ask for opinion if you already know what you want.
