Hiking boots

The wear of the sole is not dependent on the boot manufacturer but on the sole model. Almost all listed and most other boot manufacturers use Vibram soles. Vibram makes a whole range of different soles and boot manufacturers use the one that best suits the purpose of the boot. Otherwise, a simple rule applies - softer rubber - better grip - faster wear...
In my experience, in recent years the boot (stitches, rubber, interior) wears out faster than the sole. Once I changed boots when they started slipping on rocks, now I change them because despite the still suitable sole, they are destroyed.
And for those who want to replace (Vibram) soles. Vibram has a network of specialist shoemakers for their soles. The closest to us is in Trieste.

Planika82, I have similar boots - Trango Evo GTX women's (blue color) and they are excellent boots. They fit the foot well, they are very precise, and I generally have only praise for them. Really 1A. Previously I also had Sportiva boots (Trango Trek Micro) and with those the rubber wore out really faster. With the current ones it's better. I think they don't have this model at Igluj.
Those boots you showed, as I remember, are somewhat stiffer, more robust boots, for long combined alpine tours: rock + glacier, snow, in short, somewhat more serious (and also, not negligible, quite heavy!) boots. So consider if you really need such a heavy, stiff boot or if a "lighter" variant (e.g. the mentioned Trango Evo GTX, which is also praised above) would be more suitable. Because the stiffer and more robust the boot, the harder it is with it on rocks. You can also put semi-automatic crampons on Evo GTX.
Sportiva is good for women with narrower feet.

Thanks everyone for the comments.

Macesna, you're completely right about the boot I was asking about. I tried it on at Iglu and everything you wrote about robustness, stiffness, etc., holds true.

Since I'm not in such a hurry, I'll look around a bit more. When I find the right one, I'll buy itnasmeh

Let me also give my personal opinion, hope it helps.
Last year in February I bought Salomon mountaineering boots model: comet 3d gtx (180 euros) in Herviss and I can say that after one year the sole is almost destroyed mrk pogled
Well I had a lot of ascents to my nearby hill (Celjska grmada), about 150x (weight loss)..but still the sole wear surprised me a lot.
So soon I can nicely go for new ones..but definitely I'll buy the same, because the comfort in this mountaineering boot is unbelievable and they are worth the money.

But I'm also interested if it's good to replace Vibram sole? Is the grip the same after? What's the price like?
The hiking boot itself is still very well preserved, but the sole as I said above, destroyed..and it's kind of a pity
Thanks, good luck

I think the calculation doesn't work out best if you use 180 euro boots for the house hill.
It's good to have several pairs of boots of different qualities and for different conditions.

They didn't laugh at me. Same shoe model, I assume similar problems (incredible sole wear, delamination in places). I got exchange or credit as a choice.

Hmm, interesting.
No what I wrote, I didn't mean anything bad, because it was a bit funny to me too to bring boots back after a year but yeah, if you say it's an option then I'll try too.
A bit strange to me, because if the sole wears out so fast then I need practically new ones every year or change them.
But when I look at the sole it's very worn from the back, front much better but still...
Don't know, I'll try on Monday and definitely let you know what happens.
Thanks, cheers!

What should I say then, when I wore Ganda Guide model and after two hikes the sole started delaminating. They sent it for repair (gluing sole etc.). When I got it back in the next hike the sole delaminated again at the toes. When I brought them back I got new ones. The new ones lasted some time, but again the sole started delaminating where it was used most on the heel (slabs, descents) and front part (climbing). When I took them to the shoemaker he said even with strongest glue no effect because damage too severe. So now I have them only for backyard. Interesting that first series of Ganda Guide lasted 2 years BP. Obviously depends on the series.
With Trango evo GTX model no problems. For climbing more than excellent. Only bothers me that they are "tight" and kill me on descent, but that can be endured (bought actually half size smaller to feel the rock better). Generally very satisfied with La Sportiva and their boots. Especially those "Made in Italy"mežikanje

Ouch @Jusavgustin, disaster yeah... I can't imagine such a thing mrk pogled
But I wrote a written complaint via email today; if there's nothing by Monday, then I'll show up personally at the store where I bought them and see how and what.
Otherwise, I agree with what was written a bit earlier, when dprapr wrote that it's good to have mountaineering boots for special cases, for the local hills simpler or cheaper range boots.
But again it's questionable what happens to the boot if it's used for bigger hills once or twice a month... doesn't the sole hold up in such little use?

Juš, do you have Trango also for winter? I'm facing a dilemma about what to buy, at the fair they mostly recommend LS Nepal for winter.

dkrajnc27, nothing will happen to the boots if you dry them well, clean and grease them. I store them in the original box in the cellar. Since I'm not a frequent mountain visitor, I use the real winter ones at most 6 times in winter. If it's not a demanding tour, I go in winter with light boots as well. Now that's no longer a problem when there are plenty of crampons fitting various boots.
Otherwise, because of EMŠA, I'm not a big fan of the cold and carrying winter gear!
Definitely good to have at least three pairs, namely some for the home hill, some light summer ones and some winter ones. And some low ones also come in handy!

Hi!
Today I tried LS TRANGO GUIDE EVO GTX for the first time, one hour of walking. First impression is good, the boot is really light and comfortable. Just waiting for severe cold to see at what minus it will hurt me velik nasmeh
