JusAvgustin, not for real winter ascents over 2k alt, but for mid-mountains, even in winter they are top-notch. I also have Planika Mangart AVS, also very good, but the sole is a bit too stiff for my taste and in summer I left them out in direct sun and the protective rubber cracked, now they leak. Wanted to buy LS Nepal EVO for real winter ascents but my size was gone, tried 45, a bit tight, so waiting for 45.5. Has anyone bought LS from neighbors in Italy, are they cheaper there? Here no stocks of different sizes currently.

Go to Tarvisio, there he'll give you surely more discount than in Iglu...

Also in Chamonix, La Sportive boots are cheaper - say from 220 eur in Slo to 180 eur.

@kitta, I agree with this. Yesterday on the path from Raduha to Luč I met a girl right in these master boots and she was slipping to hell, whether it was a bit icier or from the south, but gripped zero for her and full gas only Otherwise, to mention something else at the same time. I think the Iglu shop started a sale up to -50%, worth checking Good luck

Well, on ice no boot grips... not all in gear... more in the person and their abilities

I have classic crampons and they are enough for those icy gullies, also for some short jump, only problem is summer boots and crampons aren't quite ok, so I have winter boots + two identical hiking ice axes. On Triglav they were very useful to me, as also at gullies.

First, a nice greeting. I'm buying boots because I want to start hiking in the mountains. For hills now I have low Salomon ones and some higher Adidas ones for winter. What do you recommend? I'd like for terrain Grintavec, Skuta, Ojstrica, Triglav... lp

@fuego, all listed boots are suitable for the hikes you described, if we're talking about dry conditions.

Hi, after a couple of years' break, I plan to go to the mountains again (in spring). Since my previous boots were Planika, I'm leaning towards them now too. Please give some advice on models Anapurna and Jalovec. They seem quite stiff to me and somehow don't fit my foot. The seller recommended Salomon Quest 4D GTX today, which fit incredibly well on my foot. I'm a bit doubtful about the boot, so I need proper advice on these models and some experience. Hikes from mid- to high mountains, so seeking the right boot.

These too I had similar ones a while ago myself and I was very satisfied with them.

Hi metado! If you maybe read one page back, I wrote about serious problems with Salomon Quest 3D GTX.. the sole wore out extremely fast for me and I was honestly disappointed with them.. otherwise comfort in this hiking boot is really excellent! Well today I was just at Hervis and filed a complaint, on Friday I'll find out the situation, I heartily hope it goes through, well judging by the seller I talked to he seemed very positive. Thanks to user !!! @makris !!! , for telling me that such a thing is feasible and that there's nothing strange about complaining about hiking boots after almost a year! Thanks again! Anyway @metado, today when I was at Hervis the seller also suggested that if the complaint is accepted I should take Salomon Quest 4D GTX, haha.. hand on heart I'll take them, because they seem even more massive. But going forward I doubt I'll take Salomon and that from Hervis. Give another 50 euros or maybe not in these times, when Iglu and Kibuba have strong discounts, maybe you get a really top hiking boot of top quality. I think I've finished with Hervis after this operation. Hope my advice helped you and good luck!
