The boot is consumable material, as they say, not for eternity. It depends on care and use. I usually have several pairs, especially if you go to the high mountains often. I don't agree with the previous one that Alpina boots are so bad. For me, it's important that they are comfortable, that I can walk in them. I had Tibet several times, and they are comfortable and soft; I don't know how long they will last. Years ago I bought San Marco; you could get them in Italy at that time, they were a bit heavier but very good. For now, I'm satisfied with the Alpina boots; if something peels off, with the previous ones I had problems with that, but they were summer ones, I took them to the shop and they fixed them. Anyway, I'd say, as many tours as I've walked in them, they were good boots.

Ignore that all-season, just meant boot with a wide range of use like smetar nicely said That's why I asked about Alpina, got two kinds of opinions. Super boots and very satisfied user or for same price or 50-100€ more get better quality durable boot. On Lhotse model no comments heard yet, decided need to try it and below mentioned models other brands before decide. If someone has experience with Lhotse, Trango Alp and Scarpa Rebel Lite would ask for short comparison.(even 2 of 3 welcome) Thanks for every answer and explanations, very helpful

When you put on Trango Alp GTX you won't change anymore. Had a sea of boots, none in my opinion better than LS. From Alpina to Garmont, via Scarpa and Planika LS top! Not to have useless attacks again, this is my opinion and I've changed quite a few pairs of boots. Price is accordingly... cheers

Had light and heavy Alpina boots and had problems (partial sole delamination, heel worn after two months etc. They really warranted or repaired all. As I wrote, after morning dew 5 min and all wet! For 120€ expect more! Really miss Ratitovec gojzars but Italians supposedly ruined them .... Now have light 5.10 and so far very satisfied With Alpina finished

Fully agree with JusAvgustin. I also destroyed quite a few gojzars myself, but LS Trango Alp is top. For me Trango Cube GTX model is even better (more climbing oriented).

I've been wearing Alpina Tibet for years. I wear them summer and winter. I go to the hills 3-4 times per month. About every year and a half I buy new ones, then the old ones to wear out completely I wear for another year at work (roofing) or forest work. For my needs they are optimal regarding quality and price...

La Sportiva isn't what it used to be anymore.

Zebdi, I'm also satisfied with La Sportiva. If I understand LG right, LS boots used to be even higher quality, meaning top-notch. Lp

Mainly LG draws from his own experiences, because with all the LS pairs he had he noticed a quality drop. Probably.

I don't get why JusAugustin is so impatient with everyone who doesn't share his opinion.

b.k., it's more that some write a bit off the cuff. I have my second pair of Sportiva shoes, haven't noticed any quality difference - that's why I wondered in what La Sportiva is no longer what it was. At least for their climbing shoes I can easily say that quality hasn't dropped in the last 10 years - now I have the sixth pair...

b.k. how can he say quality has dropped if he's never had LS on his feet in his life?????????? That's not just off the cuff, that's beating empty straw. I only own LS boots: climbers, hikers, tech winter, winter, summer hikers, approaches, all kinds. Some flops like Ganda guide, still don't get how the boot failed after two tours but that's not the point. Important that I know what boots since I only own LS. Someone talking off the top of his head is a bit funny, right?

Commenting on the quality of boots or gear unknown to us, tours with unknown conditions or not even "done",... all that misleads forum visitors and makes the forum not as we want it.

This is a first-hand comparison of my Alpina Tibet and LS Trango Trek Micro EVO Gtx boots. Both pairs in pics are 2015 vintage, walked approx. 200 hrs with each. Same walking style, same weight, approximately same conditions and difficulty. Pics show wear of both shoe models overall and sole wear. My summary follows …. Alpina Tibet … Over years and years of mountaineering walking I changed about 20 pairs of Alpina, always Tibet model. They are very comfortable especially for those with wide feet and with them I walked most of my mountain paths of all difficulties. Since they changed the sole a few years ago they became an even *better* choice for me. However … these new soles become slippery very soon on wet rocks, protective rubber on toes starts to fray and peel off. With every new pair in recent years it was the same story. Leather gets soaked quite quickly despite regular application of impregnators (Nikwax liquid). Slippery soles contributed to two painful slips on wet rocks so I decided to try the often-mentioned La Sportiva for safety. LA Sportiva Trango Trek Micro EVO Gtx … My biggest doubt was the comfort of LS boots because they look narrower at the toe already at first glance. The doubt was unnecessary because LS has more space for toes in height at the front. In addition, those with low instep should take LS boots with EVO mark. This mark means lower boots in the instep area so toes with proper size choice don't hit the toe cap on descent. These are my first LS boots. I walk with them without any problems. First tour was 11 hours long and so far I haven't gotten a single blister or abrasion. Soles don't slip yet, the feeling of precision in foot placement is incomparably better than with the mentioned Alpina model. They hold moisture well, especially artificial materials, but they are not omnipotent. There are no completely waterproof boots, or rather they are called … rubber boots What to say for conclusion … Alpina Tibet ... super choice for average mountaineer especially in price with discounts / properties ratio. I recommend replacing them as soon as they start slipping regardless of the paths walked. La Sportiva Trango Trek Micro EVO Gtx … for me so far super choice, they have higher price of course. Considering the wear so far, quality of materials and workmanship and consequent durability they might not even be that much more expensive. How long my LS will last I'll see later. For now everything is BP. I hope these info help someone in choosing. They are based on my experiences so this opinion can be different from someone else's. Everyone decides on purchase themselves. If someone wants to know more about boots for paths hundreds of kilometers long like Spanish Camino then on ZS. Mountaineering type boots have no place here although often used

Juš, are you my second mom to know all about me? I have different experiences and some showed me La Sportiva after 1 year when my Alpina were still like new. And from boots it depends on the terrain walked, hours, storage after tour, hiker weight, price, care etc. Can't compare Alpina and La Sportiva because Alpina is a solid boot for its price. Who thinks he can walk as good in Tibet for 90€ as La Sportiva 230€ is wrong.

Mountain lover, when you have La Sportiva Karakorum on your foot, you'll have a gojzar, that's what it's called. You're a farmer anyway, you should know what's better than good.

Hello, regarding La Sportiva Karakorum I have to say this, they fit the foot very well, but after about 8 trips the sole was worn out completely. Maybe I got a bad batch! I had it replaced, but that's not it. Nothing bad about Alpina, La Sportiva for winter is the law.
