Hello, I'm interested if anyone has recently gone to Jalovec from Tamar via the col? Is there any problematic snow at the wall entry?

Today I finally decided to go to Jalovec, where I haven't been yet. (by the way Ajda and Žan are awesome). I started from Vršič through Mali kot to the top. Down past the hut under Špička. In the morning it was 8 degrees at Vršič, great for hiking. On some places the trail is really poorly marked, but in such nice weather no problem. Views are wonderful. It was great for me nasmeh

they can hardly wait for someone to trip on the scree

Approaching Jalovec from Vršič, it bothers me that we don't see it anywhere like we're used to. To me it's somewhere the nicest from Slemenova špica in autumn.

From Slemenova špica even professional Austrian photographers shoot it, which is no coincidence given the excellent view of it.

Hi,

maybe some advice on a circular tour to Jalovec from Tamar. Is it better to go over Kotovo sedlo to the summit and descend through the notch or vice versa?

Today with friends from Primorska to Jalovec, this time over Kotovo sedlo, for the return we chose the path over Goličica and Jalovška škrbina... a day as you can only wish for... company, weather, views.. nasmeh

Two years already I haven't gone on this path, friends have been "nagging" me for a long time to go to his favorite. Today it came together, and we went. Some new, others to check if any memories remained. Of course they did. And the path is still beautiful and requires carefulness. Jalovec is Jalovec, from whichever side. We ascended from Zadnja Trenta over Goličica and descended over Špička back. A little fog played during the day, also not so warm on top as it was mid-summer but the day was nice. Memories will add up. nasmeh

Green recedes to rocks; towards Mali kot.

View downwards to the sheer slope (and void).

The descent towards Špička also requires caution.
