We needed 15 hours, but we got a bit lost in between and searched for the right path... Without that, it would take 12/13 hours.

Can anyone tell me approximately what the distance is between the parking lot in Planica (in km) and the mountain hut in Tamar?

Interesting tour that requires fast legs! Well, obviously some on the forum can't reconcile with that. With fast legs namely! best d

I would take three days for the approach to those three peaks and enjoy. In one day I couldn't anyway, maybe in two, but it doesn't tempt me. Someone else wanted and managed to traverse all in one piece and in one day. The main thing is that everyone would have / has enjoyed and that's the charm of the mountains. Probably that's why we all go up there.

Yesterday on the king of mountains again after almost 15 years. Path same as then; Vršič – Shelter below Špička – Jalovec and back. Views were also kingly, so efforts on this extremely hot day were rewarded. Heat probably contributed to poor attendance that day, only 5 hikers signed in, no new ones met on this path. Would also praise hospitality of caretakers in the Shelter and excellent apple strudel. Best

Since there were many questions, I'm reporting that there's no more snow on the path from the shelter. I myself asked people here a while ago who would surely know, but didn't get a reply due to some childish grudges. I don't know what the point of such behavior is, but I'd tell those mentioned that prevention is better than cure. Here I'll write just that, although I'm biting my tongue a bit. So I'm posting this info for everyone. Best regards and good luck

Well, let me write too...From Kotovo sedlo up the path is in excellent condition, fixed protections ok everywhere, at two spots the pins are pulled out, but no panic...Snow only in one gully left, but right under the path, so no issue... But caution needed at some spots due to scree, so yeah, use your head and it'll be fine... Good luck!
