Janez, today I was skiing on the Golte and wondering if the new snow blanket attracted you to Javorca. And I wasn't wrong. Super photos!!! Skiing was good too. Best regards to all three! Drago

Beautiful pictures. Really, time to "eat" some sunshine but still sit down for something more substantial at the end too...

After a long time on Sunday I headed to Javorca again from home. Above Kugler I met a young runner training for the mountain run on Golte this Saturday. Of course I couldn't resist trying to follow her. On the flat she pulled away from me, on the steep I caught up with her. So we puffed together to Klemenakova bench, where I turned right to Javorca, she to Mozirska hut. Pace dropped without company but I was very satisfied with the time to Javorca. Maybe I'll even enter the race. At the bivouac I lounged for a long time, enjoying the nice weather and reading Mojca Luštrek's poems. On departure I met an acquaintance from the nearby village and we descended together with a stop at the hut, past Okenca and Mesarske lopce to the road below. There we parted and I continued on the right side of Trnava. I went on the newly made forest skid on the right slope above Trnava. Walking on the skid is really interesting, as it offers a completely different view of Požganija and Javorca. It runs past Kobilja glava and ends a bit below the third pillar. While searching for the continuation I also found a wonderful spring in the middle of the wall. Quite quickly I also found the path, surely a hunter's path, which nicely brought me to the path from Goličke loke. Surprised I found out that from there down there is no path anymore, but a new forest skid. No matter, it was also possible to descend nicely on it. After 5.5h I was again standing in the home courtyard and satisfied with the completed tour gazed towards Javorca. Best regards and safe steps to all from under beautiful Golte, Janez

Thursday afternoon to Golte. Above the fog we caught some sun. Route: Gosteče-straight up to hunters' observatory-Boskovec-Javorca-then down Janez's paths. On Javorca even prettier than usual.

One day my friend Andrej from Ljubno calls me, wants to see this much praised bivouac of mine and we arranged it. So it wouldn't be too easy we went via Tirške peči, where he hasn't been yet either, although he sees them every day from home. He's like most, first see the whole world, then only realize the best is at home. We parked under Bela peč. Due to the intense heat the walk through the forest was quite nice for us and it was tolerable in Tirške too, as the sun hits them quite late. Belays in the gully are all ok. At Lopna peč we sat a bit and signed in. Continued via Zgornja lopa towards Konjski vrh. At the nicest viewpoint of Tirške peči we sat again and enjoyed the view. You can see everything from Mrzlica to Košuta. Followed a stop at Žlajfer, where at water temp 16°C we opened swimming season. Spectators weren't lacking either. Via Stari stanovi, Istej and Boskovec we continued to Javorca and thus completed 360° panorama. At my bivouac we cooled off a bit at least, as it's shady in summer while in winter sun pleasantly shines into it. Of course obligatory tasting of the barrel offer. We descended via one of my paths and on the way stopped at Mozirska koča. For tour finale we did a climbing loop under Oknom and at Ivica in Šmihel finished the great tour. Best regards and safe steps to all from under beautiful Golte, Janez

Nice that Golte are praised, but what about my photos of fallen forests. About that no one says anything, we just don't see it, only beeeauty, the rest isn't important. Regards!

Janez, interest in Golte is really increasing thanks to you, which is great. Think if you wouldn't perhaps organize tours to your "sanctuary" via the exceptional climbing paths. I'd gladly join.

Nice description and nice pics....only bothered me pic no. 13...again something new... at such points a cairn is set. Nice greetings to all mountain visitors and I hope the author of this joke doesn't mind.
