To me, two years ago, it seemed better to do the path in the reverse direction. That step is nothing special (neither up nor down), more annoying to me was the descent from Greben to it and the descent from Kalška to the connecting path. Definitely more annoying in wet conditions. The feeling is always subjective. Bottom line, the path is nice, interesting and requires care like many others.

Hi. Has anyone recently hiked to Kal Ridge from Zois hut at Kokrško sedlo? Still snow up there or suitable for hiking without winter gear? Thanks and best.

Today I was on Kal Ridge from Krvavec. Conditions excellent, views fantastic. I got the idea to traverse Kal Ridge from Kokrško sedlo to Škrbina and descend to Podbelce (Roblek), but logistic problem - how many km by road from Roblek (start of path to Dolga njiva) to Suhadolnik.

A little below Roblek you go on the gravel road towards Suhadolnik. The path then turns into a cart track and rises slightly, you also cross a stream, then you reach a forest road that brings you directly to Suhadolnik parking. Walking takes 45 minutes to one hour.

Today on Kal Ridge via Lovska and then along the old abandoned path. Below, the path is a bit harder to follow due to lots of fallen leaves. Descent over Kalška gora and Zob. Wonderful path and weather.

Yesterday in wonderful weather over Koren to Kal Ridge. Return over Jež to Zvoh. On the way I met quite a few hikers. I didn't feel like going into the foggy sea.

Today from Jezerca (Kriška planina) to Kal Ridge, past Planina Koren. Beautiful, warm, no wind. Too warm, so avalanche risk from sunny slopes of Krvavec and Zvoh. At least two went yesterday, today at least one just before slope crossing. I was lucky. Just below Jež peak more can go in next warm days. Also elsewhere avalanches from steep grassy slopes. Saw big avalanche under Skuta that slid far into upper Kamniška Bistrica. Shady sides icy and hard. Careful!

Between weather forecast and reality sometimes big difference. Today I went to Kal Ridge (first time this winter). Road to Roblek drivable normally. From parking further on road to bend then marked path. Lots of branches and small trees on ground, so zigzag a bit. Higher where farm track joins it's cleared far ahead. From junction with lower unmarked path again branches and trees but passable. About five min jumping over, then at Krvavec turnoff conditions settle. Path to Lojtra b.p. without crampons as little snow. Then into thick fog to top. Visibility 10-15m. Without tracks would turn back. Snow firm wet holds weight. Dwarf pines snow-covered, plenty snow for skiers. Track bit different than usual (at deepest turns left not right) but in fog followed prints. Strong wind on top frozen snow cuttable fog. Returned same path. Pasture over meter snow lower decreases fast. Nice weather great tour but not long as pines soon peek out. Lp Miro

On Sunday, 29.6., we plan a hike from Suhi dol to Kokrsko sedlo and further to Kalški greben.
Has anyone been up from Cojzova hut? I'm mainly interested if there are still any snow patches on the harder sections or if it's passable without winter gear? Thanks and best regards.

No snow to the top of KG, so at most on the ascent towards Vrh Korena.
