Today my husband and I were up there. Strong north wind blowing, snow towards the top of the saddle icy, so without warm clothes and crampons I don't recommend. Hut closed, but you can shelter from the wind in the winter room. Good luck!

As for avalanches it's not problematic but at least in the upper part snow is quite frozen and requires crampons.

On the morning of 25.2. the snow was dry and it sank about 20 cm. In the afternoon it was already from the south, but it was great for skiing.

Today at K. saddle it was windy, snow from south and it sank quite a bit. Otherwise nice weather and small avalanches from Brana walls accompanied us the whole way.

Today I did an afternoon tour to Kamnik Saddle.
I drove to the last bend before Jermanca. I started there around half past two in the afternoon. A bit before four I was at the hut, drank a little and went back right away. Some avalanches slid here and there. Nothing serious, though I waded a little less than knee-deep. Now nice tracks have been made.
So it'll be fine for those who might go there tomorrow.

Today there were some heroes at KS, I started a bit late - at 11, so it was cracking quite a bit, I swallowed saliva over 2 bigger avalanche fields before Klin  , otherwise no panic, but constantly small ones falling mostly from Brane  , so no boredom from Pastirci to saddle  , afternoon practically no wind, sun burning, so short sleeves uphill...

Recently arrived from India. After yesterday's short visit to Kamnik Alps, my feeling already told me that steeper slopes are still dangerous for avalanches. Snow at positive temperatures, regarding stability, continuously changes, but gradually stabilizes. Ascent route to K.S. is best somewhat aside from Brana walls. Planjava always serves surprises. I'll wait a few more days, then weekend to the mountains! LP and good luck.

yesterday I was at Kamnik Saddle! started from Kamniška Bistrica! at Studenci I already noticed first avalanche, snow was rotten all the way to top of Kamnik Saddle. late morning still releasing individual small avalanches, afternoon already from Planjava direction. Despite ARSO warnings for avalanches it was quite dangerous yesterday! most exposed were gullies (Wisakova, Bosova). by the way reached top in short sleeves, it was so hot! beautiful day!

Hi! Today my colleague and I were at Kamnik Saddle and it was great. Just the weather was a bit cloudy. Path to the hut is trodden, hut was open, so we got hot tea. Otherwise snow or avalanches kept falling from Brana and Planjava, but not dangerous. Descent to Pastirci is fine too.

Can anyone confirm if the path to the saddle is dry? Occasional snow patches will be obvious, but if possible to the top nicely in hiking boots

Approach to Kamnik Saddle now possible without problems with hiking boots and poles. Little snow (one band) only on right Planjava side, in the middle where path is, dry.
