If the summit of Koštrunovi špici is grassy, it's right before the much higher Vrh brda and hard to spot. On the picture it's exactly above Briceljka. You're exaggerating a bit, Milan. But when Drago loads me with a heavy rope, I'm cold Here, another pic.

Yesterday (Monday, May 31) to Kanjavec on skis via the classic winter route behind Debelim vrhom and back. To Planina Blato by car, toll still 12 EUR. First snow starts in the gully near the area marked "Pri deklici" on maps. On the path about a meter, in the morning frozen. Some fallen trees can be bypassed, but it messes with my walking rhythm a bit. To the planina only conditionally skiable, for the most avid. At Laz mostly dry, continuous snow starts in the forest about 5 minutes above the planina. In the morning hard, below Lazoviški preval I put on crampons. Carried skis to about 2200m where it started to break through. From there real winter with some wet new snow. Since I'd been to the eastern summit of Kanjavec before, this time aimed for the western one. Warm, actually hot in the boots below, all crevasses innocently snow-covered and hidden from the curious public. Descent from the top was great. Snow smooth, around the summit almost dry, few avalanche signs. Below Debelim vrhom above Lazoviški preval some wet crust from recent new snow, lower down fully transformed snow where sun cups will soon form. Took off skis in the forest, five minutes before Laz. Nice peek into high mountain winter on the last day of May. .

Kanjavec, 19.7.2021 Parked at Savica and ascended via Komarča to Black Lake. Continued to Koča pri Triglavskih jezerih - some fallen trees on the way, easy to avoid. At Dvojno jezero turned towards Štapci then soon reached M. Tičarica. Logbook full and needs replacement, signpost seen better days. Continued to V. Tičarica, visited Kopica, one of the Zelnarice (probably Velika, stamp says Velika but maps differ) and descended to Vrata. Continued over some snowfields and joined the path from Prehodavci. Later the path between both Kanjavci branches left, but poorly marked and partly under snow. Also quite a lot of fallen trees (technically easy though). First to Z. vrh, then to V. vrh where stamp and logbook. Chatted a bit about summits and routes with a group of hikers from Canada, France and Italy, then they went my ascent route, I descended the other path and below turned back to Prehodavci for lunch. Down faster, a bit sorry I skipped Lepo Špičje, but challenge for next time. Down valley 7J to koča pri Sedmerih jezerih then via Komarča back to koča pri Savici. 2600vm / 30km.

Hi Lukito, thanks for the precise and nice report! If I get it right, you crossed the slopes under Vršaki too? I'm planning to Kopica to koča na Doliču, worried about possible dangerous snowfields...

Lukito, what was the timetable for this one-day tour? Elevation meters/hour? I've been to individual summits of your description already, but in separate ascents...Kanjavec, Prehodavci, Tičarice. This year I'd take svaka on the same story as you planned, just start from planina Blato. Since rushing doesn't make sense for me (us); better start day 1 afternoon, overnight and day 2 continue.

brett, timings are very subjective, but roughly like this: All together with breaks/rests I needed 9:30 Savica - 7J 2:00 7J - ridge and to junction with Prehodavci path: 2:00 Then both Kanjavec summits 1:00 Kanjavec - Prehodavci: 0:30 Prehodavci - Koča 7J 1:00 Koča 7J - Savica: 1:15 2600 elevation meters (2400 to summit). two years ago from Pl. Blato to Stapcev took me about 2 hours.

@Jeremish Still some snowfields, but crossed them without winter gear in running GTX boots. Again, very subjective, not without danger, but everyone knows best for themselves.

Thanks for the detailed reply! That would somehow work if we start from Blato around 6am... And more easy pace back around 19h. Tnx again!

Hi again from my side, This weekend we did the tour: Planina Blato - Koča na Doliču, where we slept, then the next day from Dolič to Kanjavec, to Prehodavci and down the Valley of Triglav Lakes back to Planina Blato. All snow patches are very small and passable. As for the times, first day we hiked with all stops, snack and photographing approx 5h15min, second day from Dolič to Kanjavec 1h15min, from Kanjavec to Prehodavci 1h30min and from Prehodavci to Planina Blato 3.5h. Total 11.5h walking, similar to what you calculated, brett. Kilometers first day 15, second day 25, elevation gains first day +1300, second day +700. Still seems quite strenuous to me, at least for me, we hiked at a moderate pace, didn't rush. Definitely recommend sleeping somewhere in between, probably best at Doliču. Safe steps

I have one question Jeremish, if you can. Did you go from Planina Blato to the hut at Dolič via the 7J valley or via the valley behind Kopica? If behind Kopica, how is the path from Vratc to the Prehodavci-Hribarice path? Thanks.

Back via the 7J valley, up behind Kopica and past the Vrata saddle. Under Vršaki there's still one snow patch, but not dangerous, path normally passable without winter gear.

On Saturday 2.10 I visited Kanjavec via Komar to the hut at Dolič, then looped via Prehodavci back to Zadnjica. Wonderful tour in very nice weather. It proved again that it's worth starting early, as peaks after 11 were more or less in clouds. I'd mention that the turn-off for Komar is not marked or poorly - pity. I was very glad to meet a cheerful group of young markacists who after many years re-marked the path from Prehodavci to Kanjavec. Big hurrah and all praise Hut at Dolič already closed, hut at Prehodavci still open..

Has anyone hiked recently to Dolič from Zadnjica? Is there still any snow on the path?

Hi. For a two-day trip I'd combine ascent to Kanjavec and Mišeljski konec. How to do it for a nice loop? How is orientation to Miš. konec? Best, D
