Almost 30cm of new snow, so they only got to Prgarca.

Unfortunately they probably couldn't assess it and started too late. With alternating it would definitely be possible, since it was pure powder. Most probably on skis and in such conditions you can't go anywhere.. Regarding safety better they turned back, for myself I know I've trudged 50 cm snow for over 2 hours and have nothing to complain about . Happy and healthy 2015 Dejan

Yesterday at Kredarica. Not much snow, just windblown in some places. Inversion did its thing too, so it's already quite processed. Skiing was fine. I went over Ulce then traversed right (along the path). I enjoyed some downhill a bit. Repeat visitors will have it easier, since the track in the traverse is already made. A word about plowing. Need to pay for fuel, machine and worker. Financed by money contributed by hikers. Next time up look at the bar where there's a blue metal box labeled "Friends of Triglav - for plowing the road to Krma". I think everyone who comes up can contribute a euro. Alternative is trudging from Radovna.

Hi Was anyone maybe today at Kredarica...how are the conditions on the road? Is it icy from Radovna in the morning hours? bumslpepe: I hope your comment on plowing is read by as many people as possible and raises awareness

If it's still icy in Ljubljana in the morning, then you have to count on ice in mountain valleys until end of April, sometimes even into May.

The road is plowed, but not salted. On Saturday when I was returning it was already quite smooth. Better to have chains in the car just in case (right in Krma I already mounted them on icy road). Recommend practicing chain mounting somewhere dry and light. Learning in dark and wet can be very unpleasant (own experience from Krma).

While we're already at learning to put on chains. Recommend practicing at home in front of the house, not stopping in traffic in the middle of the road on a slope to read instructions. Such bushmen exist Of course it doesn't apply to anyone here

Hello. I want to go at least to Kredarica tomorrow, maybe also to the top if conditions are OK. Wondering if anyone plans to go to Triglav tomorrow or Thursday, could I join because I don't like such tours alone. Been to the top last winter with friend who can't this time. Write to zs.

bumslpepe: big thanks for reply on conditions Re chains: Putting on chains done right as any good technically able man would. More prevention, tires not top anymore, though road didn't require it. Hence question in prev post. Maybe good tip for others, know some male amateurs. Conditions super for hiking, today real highway formed. Some sinking, frozen and windblown spots. Mostly almost all "lone wolves" and no other women on path.

Viharnik, the answer to your question is yes. Been there many times in summer, last winter first time in winter conditions. But I'm aware I still lack experience (though completed all courses for alpine beginner) so wouldn't go alone but gladly join someone. Lp
