Kredarica

I'm just one of the hikers who came to Kredarica that day, without forerunners, I surely wouldn't have made it to the top. My intention was to write how beautiful and wonderful day I spent, unforgettable. I didn't know that one has to write who was first, second, third,...

I just wrote that one of those kind-hearted people you mention was also my friend, otherwise you'd see more about that beautiful, wonderful and unforgettable day if you added a photo. As for second, third,... of course no need, but the first-the first one you never forget.nasmeh I'm also tempted to head up there.

I'm wondering if anyone went recently over Plemenice and what's the path like? zmedenSince snow height drops rapidly we feel like next weekend via Plemenice - Dolič - Kredarica then second day to Triglav and back via Slovenska pot! Of course all depends on weather next week, if current conditions are favorable!nasmeh Nice PL. GREETINGS!

Tomorrow the weather forecast is wonderful. Pulls me to Kredarica, so in dilemma whether via Krma or from Pokljuka? Does anyone know conditions on these paths? Thanks in advance and wonderful weekend to all hikers and non-hikers!

I don't know if vanjas is joking or serious. Don't even know if he knows what he wrote. Anyway at this time usually no hiking from Vrata; if at all, then let him go. He must count on snow starting deep below bivouac under Luknja, otherwise not much, then break trail through all Plemenice of course with all necessary gear, if he succeeds at all, count on descend to Dolič and probably end first day there (no bivouac). Don't know where he'll overnight. Breaking trail to Planika and Kredarica will be enough for next day. But to descend after successful ascent straight via Slovenska through Stena—no, it's not common for winter conditions to descend Slovenska; take a whole week. Personally I think he won't even reach over Plemenice.
Today I went with a colleague on the usual path for this time from Krma to Kredarica. The road is not better yet, snow starts when exiting Bukovje, trail is broken, morning frozen, didn't need crampons though some walked with them. Higher up, plenty of sun, wind kept it from being too hot, occasionally nasty gusts. A few people at the summit, path broken, they say it's quite good, today only wind was annoying. We returned right after noon, from Pastirska dol to parking all in shade, but too much sun not good. On whole path disturbed only by some "markings" sprayed by unknown marker through all Bukovje to Vrtače, then spray ran out. If anyone knows about this vandal, we'll be glad to learn, even via ZS.
maucec40, don't recommend Pokljuka—no one has gone, deep sinking ahead.

Triglavski beat me to it, but similar opinion. I'd also like to know about that sprayer. OF times are gone, such vandalism on trees and rocks doesn't belong. Today at start comforted myself these are forester markings since some logging around. But when it moved to rocks just eek. Packon can at least explain on forum what was up or under whatcool.
Otherwise conditions very friendly, at least where sun reaches. For skiing not yet mrk pogled

I also noticed those markings already end of October.

I am ashamed as a hiker and marker that we have such sprayers among hikers. This work surely not from someone with marker ID, not at all taught like this on course, if marker's work then please IMMEDIATELY return marker card and stop shaming self and marking section. And also: who wants such work apply to markers in home municipality sure they'll take after course, which not too hard, gain all needed knowledge. NOT DO SUCH VANDALISM in our beautiful mountains. LP

mukica, if you know more please tell me on PM. Those who can't get through Bukovje in winter should just stay home, it'll be better for them.

Today went towards Lipanca - Blejska hut, where such marks also appear, there even the whole slope is marked with a line, lines are even several meters long, so in my opinion these marks are definitely not official marks.

The lines towards Lipanca are for another purpose. The purpose of these lines was to mark the boundary of intervention for road improvement, which tilts to the wrong side in certain sections.
Why the road wasn't fixed zmeden(of course the road would remain open only for hut supply) I don't know, or rather some know the answer.
These marks have no connection to mountain trail markings.

As for the "markings" through Bukovje in Krma, I think someone who isn't too connected to nature painted them, or "shat" them so densely just to sign himself. Possible also that he trailblazed for someone....
Definitely condemnable and still waiting for him to explain the reasoncool

I'm wondering, is it possible this Saturday to go to Kredarica from Krma? Best regards.

From Krma is the easiest winter access to Kredarica, only drags if new snow has fallen. Tested this winter!!zavijanje z očmi

I think conditions at the weekend won't be suitable for ascent to Kredarica. Abundance of new snow and very low temperatures.

Thanks for info. It seemed so to me and I just needed confirmation. I'll wait for more stable weather, I was up there myself 2 weeks ago. L.P.

Finally proper conditions for ascent to Kredarica have formed, higher up some new snow fell, which wind blew around well, cooled to proper -13 degrees, wind gusts up to 15 m/s and light snowfall, what more could one want, real winter conditions for real PT. With a friend we set off from Krma just after 7am. To the top of "streets" there was a decent track (thanks young alpinists from Radovljica), there we put on snowshoes and it went like butter to Kredarica. Tea and chat with Janez and Zvone, then back to Krma. Avalanche danger level II, we walked the winter variant. Skiing possible to Mali polje, lower down noticeably too little snow. But again the eager "painter" was at work, who smeared some gray paint into some already made orange circles, so his hand dries, brains already shredded.

Is the road to Kovinarska hut well drivable - for all passenger cars, even those a bit lower. Interested also if the path to Kredarica from the top of "streets" (as triglavski wrote) is passable without major problems without snowshoes. Interested because we three Styrians plan to climb for the last time this year to the foot of our Father - maybe even to the summit?!
Thanks for info.

The road is drivable also for passenger cars all the way to the parking at "garages". To the top of "streets" (my 5th picture) good track, further on problem in drifts, but some places blown clean and there no problems. On Tuesday probably not yet proper conditions (http://www.meteo.fvg.it/~www/SI/AREE/ALPI_GIULIE/StrukturaAlpiGiulie.php), Wednesday could be really nice, and wind should calm down too.
