@vetrov please just explain why you're asking if you need crampons when on this same page PFranci's post on 2.11 clearly says the path is dry and without features. Can't you be bothered to read? Or what's the catch in some other bush? No hard feelings, just not clear to me and probably others.

Experienced mountaineer will in this time of year and such conditions (despite lack of snow) normally carry crampons. Probably won't need them, but will have them. Period. Whoever asks, shouldn't go up. Period!

The question is stupid only from that viewpoint because there's already an answer on the previous page that I overlooked and apologize. Really need to whip oneself right away. I myself have an alpine course and quite some winter climbing experience, so no, not a typical rep of 'you know who'. I was asking because I'm taking a colleague up who hasn't been in mountains 'in winter' yet and wants to see snowy Triglav up close. And if someone had even answered there's some bigger snow traverse on the path somewhere, we'd both stay home or visit something lower. But for her to buy crampons now and find out at the end the path is dry, doesn't make sense to me since winter doesn't draw her to mountains anyway. But obviously too hard for someone who's been up recently to write in one sentence if the path is completely dry or not, instead right away allergic to everything that crawls and goes on this portal. And once again, overlooked the answer on previous page, I apologize.

@SamoK Let there be some more comment from the terrain, not from home. As I wrote last time, from Krma it's dry, so off you go happily on the path.

Sorry, PFranci, currently I'm disabled. Objective difficulties. But back to the topic. You say "happily on the path". Do you mean nicely and authoritatively recommending to the guy with the "alpinistic" course not to take crampons? Can the girl sue you then when she slips on iced rock and twists her ankle?

Come on, let's be patient with each other, we're all different... The forum is a topic on conditions, let it stay that way.

julika, look a bit higher up, what can happen at this time without winter gear, then be smart. Conditions are such that winter gear is necessary, even if it stays in the backpack all the time. No way, be patient.

SamoK, do I need to explain something to you... Don't you understand that I'll head to Kredarica with my colleague exclusively if the path is dry and if someone confirms it to me, I'll just go, without crampons and without ice axe. As soon as I notice a snow patch that might be impassable, I'll turn around and go back, because I'm cautious by nature anyway. And making comparisons here with the two deceased mountaineers is ridiculous, because they chose a completely different snowy path (don't know, didn't read, but definitely didn't go on the dry path from Krma to Kredarica). Damn, wouldn't say it if you were asking about winter gear in February (that would be pure madness), but now, when mountains don't have real winter yet, there are still quite a few dry paths and at this time opportunity to take even someone not so experienced a bit higher to see snowy mountains up close, that's really a crime, huh? Thanks Franci and julika, there are still some real people up here.

@vertov, what is a typical representative of those who don't have an alpinistic course? Who do you mean with the words "you know which ones"?

Pikica1 Those are inexperienced hikers who in summer rush to mountains in flip-flops, in winter even without winter gear.

I'm not holding with anyone but Redbull told you nicely here. Whoever doesn't know if they can manage have you heard of mountain guides Even giants like Kugy hired Trenta hunters because otherwise don't know how they would get anywhere.
