Nejc, there are always two meteorologists at Kredarica, which means the hut is always (emergency) open. The hut is not heated, but you can sleep there, blankets in abundance. Usually there is also jota or barley soup available. Good luck! nasmeh

Can someone urgently report if anyone went yesterday from Vrata to Kredarica/Triglav or the other way.
Or anyone who was at Kredarica yesterday from any direction?

Krma - Kredarica

Transport to Lese, last parking lot, snow on the path starts above tree line, from there winter squeaky snow, mmmm, path follows winter route.
Whoever has time, it'll be nice, winter gear.

I love Mondays, on the path only a chamois greeted me peacefully from around the corner. In nice weather this really rarely happens.
Conditions are super, wintery, cold, just too little snow...well, at least for ski addicts and Triglav ascenders in those great snow conditions.

So I used the exceptional yesterday for a visit to Kredarica.
Drive through Krma is great, same for the walk above it. Above the forest there's just enough snow to nicely cover the scree among the bushes. With altitude the snow cover thickens, at Prgarca it's already about 40cm. The path to Kalvarija is well trodden and just firm enough. I was lucky to be relatively late and followed the tracks of two hikers over kalvarija. Above Vrh snežne konte the snow is mostly blown off, so to the Hut there's more gray than white.
All day I saw five people, two farther away (in the wall of Mali Triglav) two hut keepers and a young guy when I was already descending to Kalvarija.
