Radovna - Kredarica (31.12.17)

Parking is in Radovna. No plowing now. Except the known skier first with snowshoes to Kredarica. Conditions great, but not for pedestrians. Those who tried without aids on feet turned at Prgarca.
Weather divine, in short conditions today unique and safe. Summit not reached today, as return home would be late which we didn't want.

The road from Radovna is drivable a couple of hundred meters towards Krma. Parking space max for four cars, for the others without a metal shovel it won't do. mežikanje

I'm curious how much the walking time extends from where cars can now be parked, tomorrow I plan towards the top and whether the entire path is frozen? Best regards, JOŽE

Well it depends on walking speed but somewhere from 40min to 1h (approx 5km). LP!

Start Kurja vas- to Lese (upper parking) approx 5km - fast walk around 55min. Parking for 4 cars, if they park nicely then 1.2 km further from Radovna start, you gain 15 min. If full there already, then back or dig parking with shovel.

Yesterday I was at Kredi, weather super except wind which was quite strong, parking limited to 4 cars, higher up to Kovinarska if you have "mother-in-law" car nasmeh

Radovna - Kredarica

I parked in Radovna, but you can drive with a personal car also to Kovinarska hut, with caution (a few garages for parking are arranged there).
The entire path offers hard to frozen snow base, for skiers it was easier to proceed on foot from Prgarca onwards with skis on backpack. Crampons/small crampons recommended for easier walking or depending on individual's habit.
Skiing on such a long route excellent and constant from top to bottom nasmeh

We had a super nice day, which in such good company passed too quickly, service excellent cool

We nicely spent yesterday's day ...Company, happenings and surroundings excellent, only the path from Radovna drags on.. especially on return zadrega

Yesterday the weather was really flawless and after a long time I decided to visit Kredarica. In Kurja vas at half past seven full parking, I leave the car at the first suitable spot towards Radovna velik nasmeh

. First 500m I danced on smooth ice, further it somehow went, along the path I counted 23 cars (crazy). To the summer parking I warmed up nicely, got there after 56 minutes. Already due to quite a number of vehicles below I had a hunch, but when I caught up just before the hut with the group with Staša, I immediately knew what time it is. Oh what all my nose smells. cool

I arrived straight to the party, which was right in front of the hut entrance, as the weather was really unique.
So many ¨Svedrovs¨ together I haven't seen. But I noticed mostly walkers (like me), as there were few skis around. At one o'clock time for return, as I realize I've aged ten years in the last two mrk pogled

Stop by Pr' Psnak for coffee, and also planned to watch the start of the game with Czechs there, but didn't last long...

At the right time, at the right place. Dejan's snack outdoors.

There was quite some traffic even higher up. (Mali Triglav)

And also Dovški križ with its surroundings

Even in summer it is not always as calm and warm as today.

A few meters short of the long-term January average.

On Friday at two at night as usual we go from Ajdovščina. At 4:10 we park in Kurja vas. Treading was strenuous. Snow sank a lot. And there's a lot of it. To Prgarca we needed six hours. There we put on crampons and continued to Kredarica. Another four hours - so total 10 hours. With snowshoes it would be easier. Weather decent. Sometimes windy, then when sun came out it was warm. No one has gone to Triglav for a few days. Yes persistence pays off sometimes. We decide to overnight at Kredarica and descend to valley in the morning. Morning at six was wonderful. Though cold minus 12. Four hours to valley to car. Fast walking. That last part from ramp to Kurja vas drags. Today many ski tourers and snowshoers came. In between some walkers who still had easier job because we made the track yesterday. Or rather Damjan made the track. He said no tour has tired him so much. Maybe in a week it will be better. nasmeh
