Today to Kriška via that steep nice track, to Tolsti vrh not trodden, descent already soft, almost slush.

Conditions yesterday 13.3 - Path to hut on Kriška gora from Gozd nicely trodden. Small crampons might come in handy, but doable without. Tried luck trampling to Tolsti vrh too, but at point with cornice, steep pitch with lots of windblown snow, turned back instead.

Yeah, on Kriška gora there's not much snow visible, I'm just curious about the conditions along the ridge to Tolsti vrh and then further zmeden

on the direct path to Gozd

Afternoon Zalog - Velika Poljana meadow - Grebenc - Mala Poljana meadow - Tolsti vrh. Over Ježa and along the ridge around 18:00 it was still not trodden, not much snow there 15-20 cm, which melts quickly.

Todi got away to the sea on us, so we used the wonderful day with Metej for a short one. Gozd, over Ježa to Tolsti vrh and along the ridge to Kriška gora and back to Gozd. To Ježa where the path from Poljana joins, nobody had gone yet in the fresh snow. We were also first on the ridge to Kriška gora. Despite occasional postholing, no major problems. / no crampons / Weather cloudless, little or almost no wind, you can see everything from Snežnik, the Julian Alps let alone the Karawanks. It was super, even struklji with honey, then to the valley where the sun had already done its job. Path muddy.

we also met Mirkota, regular visitor of Ratitovec

Ah, you two were ahead of me. You were early, since I was on the summit before nine, but you had already headed to Kriška... thanks for the tracks, it eased the ascent a lot nasmeh

From the village Gozd to the hut on Kriška gora and further to Tolsti vrh. The nice view was slightly spoiled by the slightly foggy atmosphere. If you walk a bit more quietly, you might spot some native roe deer nasmeh

Past the little garden onwards to Tolsti vrh.

View back to the village Gozd where we left the car and higher up to the hut on Kriška gora.

On the summit we loafed a bit while some diligently worked.

Among blooming wild garlic I caught this little chamois.

On the way back also this long-haired one ...

Has anyone gone or does anyone know if from Gozd to Tolsti vrh and then to Kriška gora someone has already trodden a track? Thanks.

On Saturday quite a few went from the hut to Tolsti vrh.

On Sunday I went from Križ first to Tolsti vrh through Ježa (there was quite some snow, in places sinking to the knees, the track was already made).
From Tolsti vrh I descended to Kriška gora. Up to here you still need to break trail, as quite a bit has drifted on the ridge. From Kriška gora to the Shelter at Gozd the path is quite icy and trampled - I recommend microspikes for a more stable step.
