Some pics from Saturday 10.5.2014, when I went from Križ on steep path to Koča na Kriški gori and to Tolsti vrh. Descended to Mala Poljana, from there via Štajnarica and Zavetišče v Gozdu back to Križe. Path was still normally passable before yesterday's snowfall, some fallen trees (probably from last year's windthrow) only on part of path from Mala Poljana to Štajnarica.

On Saturday we snails were on Kriška gora. On "flat" up and down then to coffee at hut under Storžičem. Nice weather, when leaving also nice views, traffic on path up and down quite busy, in short nice Saturday trip. Too bad it's quite far from Ptuj and Maribor.

Yes, we were more snails. What can you do, school obligations, horse tournament, flu. My little one is the only one, won't let mountains be taken for nothing in the world even three years ago she could barely walk a kilometer to Ptuj center.

On Sunday, after 7.5 years, I visited Kriška gora again, the hut in Gozd was a really pleasant surprise. Weather was 3-4, on Tolsti vrh almost 5. Snow started halfway from Kriška gora to Tolsti vrh, in places frozen.

After a long time again on Kriška gora, start from Gozd village; beautiful sunny day attracted many hikers to this panoramic peak, we nicely warmed with mulled wine before hut and admired clear views to Julijci, Bohinj mountains, Stol, Košuta, Storžič, while valley covered by dense foggy sea; sun melted snow too; lp

On Saturday, starting in the dark from Tržič, hoping for the sunrise. No, dreams shattered soon, as it closed in from all sides in about half an hour, plus strong wind the whole way. Goal was Tolsti vrh, but ridge and peak hidden in clouds and fog (wind stronger), stopped at Kriška gora, drank tea and a shot of schnapps, back to Tržič. Still nicely used the morning velik nasmeh

Today from Gozd to Tolsti vrh and back via Kriška gora. On the ridge lots of drifted snow, but track already made. From the hut back quite icy.

In the forest the trail goes mostly over snow

On the top there was quite a wind, so I didn't stay long. If looking at the whole path, the wind didn't bother. Better than expected :-)

....Almost the whole path is still under snow. Along the ridge from T. vrh to the hut there is still a lot of it. On sunny spots the trail is muddy. nasmeh

Today, unfortunately on not a very nice day, to Tolsti vrh through Ježo. The start is of course in the village Gozd. To the top there is no noteworthy snow. On the summit itself winter returned. It started snowing. Views were poor. From Tolsti vrh to Kriška gora the path was icy - crampons obligatory. I descended via Ovči path, which was dry throughout. The usual - marked path - was icy in the upper part.

In the village Gozd nothing should surprise us - cattle already grazing.

The path across the Ježe hayfield is dry.

The little hut is unfortunately falling apart.

We are already in the forest where it goes steeply uphill.

There is some ice on the path below the summit, but nothing special.

Hunting hut on Mali Poljana, which also serves as a shepherd's hut.

Kriška gora was already in real winter within a good hour.

Today Tinky and I alone went around from village Gozd to Tolsti vrh through little Poljana and along the ridge to Kriška gora. Descent from Tolsti vrh was still ice and snow in certain parts, otherwise mostly dry.
