Hi PV. The path is trodden, but due to the thaw walking was a bit harder. No extra equipment was used that day. Basically, path under feet nasmeh Regards

Yes, if Kokta says go... no choice, I went...mežikanje

Start from Gozd, marked past bench to Kriška gora and on to Tolsti vrh. And up and down the little crampons were very useful (didn't end up on my butt this time mežikanjevelik nasmeh), especially on Gozd - Kriška. From Kriška on nice track, well packed (morning still a bit frozen), so no sinking in both directions and walking was... koko would say.. very comfortable nasmeh.

From Kriška slight breeze, nothing serious, so after changing to dry clothes at TV I stayed there whole 45 minutes, first enjoying views, later chatting with another TV visitor.

Nice tour before weather worsens nasmeh.

Three sunsets part 2. The day before Katty and I experienced a wonderful evening on Vošca, and slept in the shelter in Gozd... Morning on March 2nd served us with fog, and it was also colder than the previous day.. In the forenoon Mojca joined us... and hop to Kriška!.. Up there it wasn't much different...fog....but the sun showed here and there... We persevered in the hut for quite some time... Then the weather figured that there was enough fog for that day.... so we set off alone to Tolsti vrh... It was a real fairy tale... velik nasmeh on the forepeak we were already late, and wind started blowing too, so we waited right there until the little sun came out... And how it did! eek In all colors...and shades... We had to hurry back to Kriška for tea, of course we were the last nasmeh and back to Gozd... Already the second wonderful winter day in the mountains!

I drive to the village Gozd, and through Ježa head to Tolsti vrh. Snow starts a bit after the viewpoint bench onwards in the forest and it's all the way to Tolsti vrh. Track well packed, doesn't break through. From Tolsti vrh I continue along the ridge to Kriška gora. Here too track well trodden, only the sun had already greatly softened the snow, so at times it sank through nicely mežikanje
Nice sunny and warm day, no breath of wind. Clouds wandered a bit here and there and occasionally covered the sun so it wasn't too hot jezik I meet the first hikers only at Kriška gora, where we sat a bit in company and chatted nasmeh
From Kriška I return via Ovča path, which is completely dry and bare.
Happy trails to all nasmeh

...Gozd - Tolsti vrh - Hut on Kriška gora..... trail mostly nice. A bit before Tolsti vrh snow, but no problems. The summit itself is bare, views today unique. The path onwards along the ridge still has snow, about 2/3, needs a bit more effort but doable. From the hut towards the valley at the first set of cables also snow. Then bare, you can breathe easy. Nothing to it, nice day todaynasmehvelik nasmeh

Friendly invitation to the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the hut on Kriška gora drew us today first to Tolsti vrh, then to the hut. We chose a slightly different path than usual, namely from Grahovše, so exactly from the other side than most people hike. You need a bit of nose for it, since it's actually not marked, mainly you need to find its start. Then it's mostly easy to follow, there are some marks too, nicely steep uphill and you gain 1000m to the top. Exit is a bit from the hut towards Tolsti vrh, from there to Tolsti another almost hour. At the hut there was action, really pleasant, and you can see locals live with it. Thanks Franci and Mateja for the invitation and friendly welcome, and many more years to the hut.

City heat drives me again towards evening into the cool of the mountains. Well, due to quite fast pace there was no coldvelik nasmeh . I do the standard loop from Gozd over Tolsti vrh and Kriška gora back to Gozd. On the way I meet only 3 hikers, quite a large flock of sheep and a pretty fierce donkey. He wanted to let me know who's the boss on the pasture, but in the end we peacefully went each our way video

On the last August Saturday, hikers from PD Ožbalt ob Dravi-Kapla na Kozjaku set off on a trip to Tolsti vrh and Kriška gora. The starting point of the hike was in Gozd. Weather served us excellently, only visibility was a bit worse that day.

Mala Polana, Tolsti vrh, Kriška gora. Tržič
After a short break, we bite into the steep 400m ascent to Tolsti vrh, on the whole path we only exchange a few words. We don't linger at the summit. We continue along the ridge of Kriška gora, at the hut we order food and drink. Then in lively pace to Tržič. Now we still have to get my car from Spodnja njiva into my hands.
We will continue in this direction1

Today I went from Golnik via Gozd to Tolsti vrh. Up through Ježa back past the hut on Kriška gora. Conditions become snowy or wintry around 1200-1300m, track is made on both sides, but to the hut on Kriška gora much more trodden than through Ježa. Views from the top were phenomenal all around, to Julijce, Karavanke, Storžič and Krvavec and to the valley. Wonderful sunny day, winter gear not needed.

From Gozd, over Ježa to Tolsti vrh, to the hut on Kriška gora (štruklji) and back to start. Trail is quite well trodden. Sun, a bit of wind on top and nice views. On the path quite a lot of fallen trees, so PD Križe could clean the trail a bit. Quite a few hikers, even with small kids.(most without crampons)

Last week early morning towards Tolsti vrh. We caught the first light somewhere at the hut on Kriška gora to which there was already quite some traffic despite the extremely early hour. Further towards Tolsti vrh solitude and wonderful wind-sculpted views all around, especially towards Julijce.

More about the path and photos I posted at the link: Sončni vzhod na zimskem Tolstem vrhu

Today an afternoon hike with colleague to Kriška gora and then also to Tolsti vrh. It was a wonderful sunny afternoon. Started around half past two in the afternoon from village Gojzd. From the hut on Kriška gora back already with lights. It was an unrepeatable afternoon.
This is how the path from the hut on Kriška gora starts.1

From Gozd through Ježa to Tolsti vrh and along ridge to hut on Kriška gora. After refreshment then descent to Gozd and to shelter in Gozd for coffee. Cold and windy, but still quite interesting.
