I don't know about sleeping over, but there's no snow. It's been almost 14 days since our trip in those parts, maybe you can call http://bojana-in-jure.2freedom.com/

No snow on Batognica itself, but on the northern slope, also on the path from Krnska škrbina to the saddle between Batognica and Vrh nad Peski. For sleeping it depends on the individual if they'll sleep in those holes, no bed for sure. lp

I was thinking just the summit, but don't know what gear I should take along, 'cause I don't know how much snow there is

ales50, 8.7. we were up there with a group of kids, so really no special gear needed (just the usual summer must-haves in the mountains). On the path from Krnsko jezero you cross a snowfield twice, but it doesn't pose a major obstacle.

Yesterday on Krn. At 10 o'clock on the summit it was foggy, temperature around 10 degrees. Descent past Krnsko jezero to Lepena.
Warning for the upper path above the lake, which is closed and objectively dangerous (falling rocks)

Despite quite a bad forecast, the weather yesterday was quite good, only on the summit was Krn foggy, the sun shone just for a moment.

Does anyone know if there's a path: from Krnska škrbina across the whole Batognica to Vrh nad Peski... to return back to Krnsko jezero... I've already been across Batognica to the lake in Lužnica but don't remember the branch-off.
Many thanks.nasmeh

Approximately 30 minutes, if you don't look at the remains from the first war, which would be a big shame

Today it wasn't so much about the summitmežikanje, but about the trail itself and "discovering" a new face of Krn... started in Drežnica and after about an hour of steep forest path already below the entrance to the secured Silva Korena trail. Trail ok and lucky the sun greeted me just before the end of the path, it's well secured, but almost half the trail is steep grass, soil and you have to be veeeery careful and even the secured part is "adrenalinic" in placesmežikanje. From Krn summit descended to Krn saddle and up to Batognica, then back to K. saddle and below Krn summit to the saddle where via forest path back to Drežnica where sauna-car was waitingvelik nasmeh.
Well, it was a veeeery hot daynasmeh
BTW, Silva Korena trail not recommended for vertigo sufferers.

Yesterday I decided to climb Krn via a trail still unknown to me, namely from above Drežniške Ravne. I started at the first basin. The trail is extremely picturesque, scenic, rich with war remains, above all solitary. Until I reached the trail coming from Krn Lake, I met no one. I was already quite high above Zaprikraj pasture when a group of Italian hikers started there. From Krn I descended towards Drežnica. Before Drežnica I continued on the trail to Drženiške Ravne. I met a friendly local who drove me to the starting point and saved me about an hour's walk - thanks.
Gomišček hut on Krn is very nicely renovated. It offers over 30 beds. It has friendly staff. Today it celebrates 60 years - best wishes - also PD Nova Gorica! I wish the host more successes and only friendly visitors. And he says until yesterday they were all really friendly - may it stay so nasmeh

On Sunday, 11.9., Krn served (instead of the usual beautiful views as far as the eye sees) with a wonderful play or dance of mists and clouds chasing up to around 2000m. Since the Silva Korena trail was described recently, I just add that there is no snowfield at the wall entrance anymore (long hot summer did its nasmeh), markings renewed, otherwise trail fine. Helmet recommended. Self-belay kit useful only on half the trail. Nice tour on shady side of the mountain suitable especially for hot days.
Quite a few people at the summit. Panoramic when clouds moved and unveiled mountains, otherwise lying on warm rocks and staring at sky with dancing clouds and mists was a nice experience. Followed by return along the extreme edge of Krn nose to junction, from where marked trail leads to starting point in Drežnica.

Not too earlyvelik nasmeh I started in Lepena, past Krn Lake, to Krn summit. I returned via Batognica and under Peski back... well, snow, where'd it hide, haha, patches start a bit before end of cable car, then a bit more above pasture on Polje, but only ankle or twomežikanje, depending on bootsmežikanje. Weather today, hmm, morning not promising, windy, fairly cold, then better and better, clear skies, warm wind, sun fighting clouds and in the end I really enjoyed sunbathing by the lakes...nasmeh
