Since today I messed up again at the junction from the path to Kukova, attaching pic where I marked "A" ascent over scree or talus and "B" over grassy-rocky gully. Cairn in my opinion stands wrong, someone placed it but obviously didn't know real path is ca 30m ahead. Of course I fell for it too, turned right up scree, descended the nice path. Should have done the opposite. At top of scree both paths join and continue on mostly well visible path. Recommend ascent B, descent A. Photo confirms it anyway. Snow patches still quite a lot but mostly avoidable. Crampons and ice axe stayed in backpack. Unfortunately too late start, fog first on summit, so no photos.

Ah whatever Also at "A" the path goes left along the scree...

My post referred only to the single route description to KŠ on this site (via Gulce) to make it easier for those walking there for the first time or very rarely. Anyway, option "C" isn't the last one that gets you to the top of Kuk's Peak, but one could add at least "D and E"

A bit of "fun" doesn't hurt in this heat!

On Tuesday after Triglav I treated myself to Kuk's Peak too, path without peculiarities, had to cross just a few snowfields (nothing exposed or dangerous), maybe required a bit more caution only that centimeter or two of fresh snow on grass in the summit part. ...but it was cold, that's for sure .

Yesterday a group of 10 headed to Kuk's Peak. Thrilled - first we walked in fog, but on the summit we were rewarded with wonderful views! Would do more...

Nice morning at path start promised nice trip, unfortunately that promising stayed up to 1800m, higher weather held till ten and a bit over. Later a cloud got stuck right behind Kuk's Peak and wouldn't come off so I persisted under Škrnatarica wall waiting for the amphitheater to open but I think in the wind slowly rising I heard a voice, you missed it just by one hour, show is over come another time. After hour waiting for nice views and memories I slowly dragged down screes to warm sunny valley. Conditions on path best shown by pics I'm attaching.

Nice cloudless morning awaited me in Vrata. Park before barrier, then another hundred meters on road and left into forest. Path barely visible but here avoid nasty start of path on scree. To crossing over Črlovec path without peculiarities. Snowfield in gully crossable without crampons, same two smaller further. Snow starts right when turn right off path. It's packed and holds my weight well. To saddle Gulce already some dry sections. Skier behind me went in my steps without crampons. I took them off a bit above saddle and climbed dry ridge to summit. Bad luck, fog awaited at summit so quickly descended. Returned in cloudy weather but all way could see sunlit valley behind Cmir. Next time more sun.

Hi, has anyone been up there recently? Is there still any snow on the trail? Lp

There might still be some snow in the gully when crossing Črlovec (easy), higher up the trail is dry.
