Today via Gulce to Kukova Spica, on the return to the shoulder below Škrnatarica and via screes and western path variant to transverse path and down.

The morning weather was dodgy, it couldn't be worse. Aladin forecast predicted sun, which I got shining around 2000 m. At the summit initially alone in silence with magnificent Amphitheatre views. Soon a nice, sparsely equipped young guy hopped up the path.

Couldn't resist super soft grass inviting from saddle to Škrnatarica, so before valley descent jumped to shoulder below Škrnatarica. Amphitheatre view exceptional from there. Soon guy behind me. Chatted a bit, then quick steps up to Škrnatarica. I slowly down, first path, some scree express. Little path below jump attracted me down other side of bushy ridge, 50m more west than gravelly nasty ascent one. Took me west to transverse path. Much nicer walk than gravels where careless cairns lured me up.

My summit buddy reached road minute after me. Said via gully to Škrnatarica, then to Dovški križ, down left gully. Fetched poles left higher on shoulder. Down. All during my leisurely descent from Amphitheatre shoulder.

Hmm, what does youth know about elevation gain... velik nasmeh

There was also fog on the cross path.1

Interesting, with colleague had same experience last weekend re those cairns across scree. For descent thought about knocking down the one directing from path to up scree...now see better if I had...

Tour almost identical, just poorer views

Rainy morning right time to recall ascent to Kukova Spica few days ago. Easily traceable paths and with orientation sense in good weather no need marks or cairns. Summit ascent itself unproblematic. No need follow cairns at bush exit, actually easier continue bit beyond cairns directing hiker to bad scree. More at: https://www.gore-ljudje.si/Kategorije/Novosti/kukova-%c5%a1pica

Trobec, I think despite everything you made an ethical decision and you don't need to feel sorry! You shouldn't tear down foreign markings without solid arguments, because you don't know what they're for.

@j., it was meant lightly as a joke smile Seriously I would pull it down probably only if I judged it could mislead someone to a dangerous place

Has anyone been recently to Kuk's Peak? Mainly interested in conditions above the saddle. Is it still covered, or has snow melted and it's mostly bare or mix of snow and rocks?

Check the post from Vrtaški vrh (500m lower) from a couple of days ago and avalanche reports in mountains this weekend that GRS published ...

To the valley under Gulci I personally now wouldn't go because I'd worry too much about what's *below* the saddle.

Is the road to Crlovec passable?

I'm sure it's passable or dry. Already on Friday we missed only 1 meter of dry surface. Now definitely no more ice and snow
