Rekar, not true, problem is dog or owner who should control it. Under no condition dog should attack human!!! If it does, dangerous, report owner immediately. Now we'll look everywhere for dogs and avoid paths because of dogs, lest they attack us. Come on, don't be ridiculous. I see you know little about dogs

Yeah, I agree with Polona again. I'm not afraid of dogs at all and that's why I usually don't have problems with them. I also don't have bad experiences with them. Usually I can even pet them when meeting, sometimes they slobber on me. But that's part of it if they're still young. But yesterday in the forest I had a close encounter with a very aggressive dog and a friendly owner. It really bothered me that he couldn't calm it down at all. Even when I was far off to the side, it was still growling and lunging in my direction. I don't understand why people have dogs they can't control. Aren't they afraid it'll hurt someone someday? I don't know much about breeds, but I think it was a Rottweiler.

Drago, I too always marvel at owners who can't even control their dog on a leash In one of the next issues of PV there'll be a topic on dogs in the mountains, among others my experiences on this should be included. I think it'll be quite interesting reading, especially many will realize why it's so important that the dog is 100% obedient and compliant, even more so in the mountains. I never had any problems with my two, neither in the hills nor in the valley. True, they are raised so that I can take them anywhere without worry

"True, they are raised so I can take them anywhere without worry" That's it, along with "tidy attic". Never problems anywhere, princess easily handled even the fiercest dogs (at first glance), worst case she ignorantly passed by at a bit greater distance. Don't even talk about cats and chickens that were always a joy to her. Wouldn't think a dog and chicken could sniff each other with such interest, well, she didn't fend off cats either, rather they her. Usually we waited for other animals to come to us, never pushed into them. Chickens and some cat were always surprised again how my little one stands calmly waiting, wagging tail, then lets herself be sniffed and even touched with snout or beak. Not once did I need to pull her on the leash (always attached), because it seemed she wanted to get "naughty". Kids and parents gladly petted her, she willingly lay in kids' laps and enjoyed being scratched. Definitely when it comes to dogs, it all starts and ends with the owner. I myself will never have a female dog, because I'd spoil her and she'd have me "thirsty across water", even with my little beast I had to watch so she stayed a dog. Well, a bitch actually

@ppegan you can write bedtime stories, but I still claim hikers are a bigger problem than dogs, dog has no brains you do, you know well dog guards its territory, but you think you're almighty and can trample everywhere, hey girl it doesn't work like that

That's why the dog has an owner who has brains instead of it, right And if the owner is as he should be or as Bojan writes, with tidy attic, then the dog is friendly and balanced too. If I'm not mistaken, this is a marked trail, so hikers don't go everywhere as you claim, but where intended. If they tried to avoid that dog, they'd actually go everywhere and not where intended. So what do you say is better? Really funny when you contradict yourself and don't even realize it And probably you don't even have a dog. How can you write about something you have no clue about??? By your logic we'd have to avoid all houses with dogs so the dog doesn't accidentally bite us because it guards its territory by chance. Don't be ridiculous. It doesn't work that way. If you have a dog, keep it under control, if not, better not have one. By law every owner is responsible for his dog, and must ensure it doesn't endanger surroundings. If not, reporting such owner is more than appropriate.

among the mountaineers up here there's surely some "dog school" instructor who could answer the above writings very clearly ... probably not here but in some other section ... I for example have my third "trained" German Shepherd ... where possible and safe for him/me also together in the hills ... but mandatory leash past people and other animals ... basically very simple

Hahahahaha holy shit, what conversations did I miss, I laughed to tears Otherwise my experience with Dolenc and Becks is only that once this winter at 1 a.m. I ran after her (my dog) through the whole Vincar gully (she was running) and finally I called Dolenc to come, he arrived down at Unitecha at 1:20 a.m. with the car hahaha, and didn't bring schnapps either, just thanked me!

Sunday morning on Lubnik, we made a great choice. Past Loški castle, first time also to the old castle. Today really nice views, sunny, path not muddy now, but quite frozen, no problems walking. Quite a few people, we could sit outside. The cook is a master of cracklings and flancati, tea also good. Kočna and Grintovec in clouds, Blegoš shining in the sun. Nearby goals also great, 14 km, 800 m ascent.

Almost the same route we did on Saturday, went on the path of three castles and a bit on the ridge one, returned on another, ... so we got to know Lubnik and the hut a bit better, which was quite crowded on Saturday. Cheers!

Today I made a really nice day with visiting Lubnik. I was quite early and in the morning nature is so beautiful, really mild, you admire fresh green grass, morning birds flying over it, and for a moment a roe deer by the forest, new leaves on trees. Nothing's missing. I improvised the route on the go a bit. Past Grebenar where I haven't walked for a long time, then on the path behind Gabrovo village which always delights, then on the steeper one which I usually avoid, and the upper shortcut below the hut wasn't steep enough so I preferred climbing the little ridge next to it. Also returned by inspiration, first usual descent, then along the ridge to Mali Lubnik, from there down to classic again, then down to the road and ascent to Kobila on spruce branches for parrots, descent then back to Grebenar, where nature is really beautiful at this time. yeah, and don't forget, flancat and tea are top-notch at Lubnik too, both .

Yesterday to Lubnik via ridge, return past Gabrovo village. Weather held. No views as expected. Still lots of visitors. Lively in the hut, Lubnik locals had closing meeting with live music. Food excellent.
