Lubnik Hut

I plowed on Saturday over the old castle to Lubnik. Recommend gaiters.
And on top it blew hard several times carrying snow from trees, so like in snow storm.
Winter idyll. velik nasmeh

what conditions can I expect tomorrow at 6.30 in Škofja Loka at one of the starting points to Lubnik and on the way up? today it's supposed to snow all day, tomorrow around 12h again, but I'll finish by then if I go. which route to it from hribi.net do you recommend? can park normally, because sometimes not in these days? is it even worth going up? I have gear (clothes, gaiters, crampons)...

Lakkon

I usually drive through Šk. Loka into Poljane valley. Just before Zminec there's a turnoff for the Lubnik hut - marked. I drive along this road about a good km to the sharp left bend. Hope you'll find some space for the car by the side there - there's a "gravel turning area for timber extraction". At the end of the bend you already have signs for the hiking trail to Lubnik. Enjoy!

I too often watch lantern carriers from the balcony returning via the path "over the ridge" to the valley. The path to Lubnik (from Šk. Loka) is almost always trodden even in heavier snowfall, but in such conditions it often ices up.

That's why take crampons along. Better to have them in the backpack and be prepared, than to expose yourself to winter dangers.

Today at Lubnik, paths trodden, over the weekend it'll be a real ice rink.

That's Dovška baba, for sure. The whole ridge to Hruški vrh. Kepa is visible under the Jelovica label. Struška is to the right of Golica towards Stol.

Yesterday's first choice was Javornik, but since we weren't informed about the conditions on the road leading to Grom farm, we decided to head straight to Lubnik cool!!! We didn't regret it, the path was pretty icy in the morning, but on the way back it was already from the south wind, so crampons weren't needed!!! Nice Sunday!!! velik nasmeh velik nasmeh

Regarding Javornik... from the direction of Črni vrh, leave the car at the ski area and continue on foot. Path leads to Grom farm and all the way to the top. Yesterday it was a real winter idyll!

Hello.

On Saturday I'm going to Škofja Loka area for some errands, and based on at least an on-paper favorable weather forecast I've decided to also pop up to nearby Lubnik. Last time I asked, I didn't go. Will be via this route: http://www.hribi.net/izlet/skofja_loka__vincarje_lubnik_grebenska_pot/21/135/2483

According to weather data from here, it was mostly clear on Lubnik on Thursday. Friday cloudy around -3°C, Saturday really clear just above 0°C.

What kind and how much snow can I expect on Saturday on the mentioned path if starting at 9am? Will the path be trodden? Best to take everything and use as needed, right?

Thanks for feedback.

Yesterday's Friday was nice... and pleasantly warmnasmeh. For those with lots of time, it could offer ascent to something much highermežikanje, for me, currently busy with studying, it was just the right little peak.

I start at that bend. Surprisingly only 3 steel horses therezmedeneek.Strange, why not more, it was really nice.I go anyway up that fairly steep path, so the body warmed up quicklynasmehmežikanje. With spring and stronger sun causing faster snow melt, there's also quite some mudvelik nasmeheek.Well, there was really a whole lot....and well, that's how it has to bevelik nasmeh.Signs of spring are slowly waking up, mostly snowdrops and bellsnasmeh, saw only a few crocuses.Well, a bit higher up from Gabruga snow starts.Of course, if hiking up in the sun, no panic about slipping somewhere, more tricky on the way down.Anyway more snow with altitude, where sun hasn't reached yet, plenty of itnasmeh.I took quite a few shortcuts, so for me this Lubnik was again a bit differentvelik nasmeh. After 1 1/4h of walking I was up.Of course the view today was special, kinda almost kitschy...There were some visitors, as befits Lubniknasmeh.I was up around 1pm, nice flat spot in the sun to sit and munchjezik.Hehe.Descent again a bit different path, so really varied.

This Lubnik was the right choice before the new snow dump. Gained new strength and energy, most important cleared my head and mindnasmeh. And at the same time calmed down a lot.

Up via Luža, down along the ridge. A little fresh snow on top, otherwise nice dry path.

I'm curious if anyone has already gone up to Lubnik via the zigzag path from Soteska, and (up to) where does this path actually lead?
Thanks and LP
