Just saw it now.
'Nothing beats ridge traverses'!, agree, Drago.
Bravo, Juš! How long did just the ridge take you?

Regards

Today on MMP. First snow patch before Three Larches, then alternates dry and snow. Upper gully snow-covered except small initial part. Crampons and ice axe needed.

If anyone is interested in conditions on Mala Martuljška Ponca..... you cross the snowfield under Velika Ponca 2x, no crampons needed there, but when you enter the notch between V. and M. Ponca you need them, as the notch is almost still fully covered.

entrance to the notch, still lots of snow, for a while you can go over the scree too, but much easier with crampons :)3

Thanks to both nasmeh

@skalaš70: now is the right time to visit Ponca. Very good conditions. It will change in the next days.

@mukica: it really is very nice, and not too strenuous tour, definitely worth a visit. It looks like we caught the last day before the worsening velik nasmeh

Today to Ponca via Kotle. This way not yet gone, wanted to see Za srcem cirque too. Path to cirque well marked and fixed, so no problems to there. A bit tricky when at cirque start turned left to lower kotel, but found trail without major issues. In lower kotel took left variant (right one not even seen). Snow starts at exit from lower kotel. Morning no sinking, so progressed quite fast somewhat my way. Problems start on ascent over scree to saddle. Snow compact and hard, so for each step thrust ice axe to head. Crust thick up to two cm, underneath dry snow. Where possible made good steps, if someone follows. Since path in shade all day, conditions same on descent. On return sank to knees in lower part below 2200m. Only tracks visible from Velika Dnina direction. No tracks from three larches direction. Trail to lower kotel on return hit without issues due to my snow tracks. In cirque at bivouac took longer rest, as ascent quite strenuous. Lp Miro

Today went to Little Martuljek Ponca via Kotle. Most snow still on upper kotel all way to saddle, where snow sinks so no major issues. From saddle to top already dry.

Forest road parking lot - cirque below Špik or below Heart - across Kotlje - MMP - Three Larches - Za Ak (bivouac III) - hut at Ingot - starting point

When someone opens a good thread (thanks Gams1, 14 days ago, though I don't know if you've been up there), it triggers an avalanche of repetitions and trials, and conquering the summit and making a nice circular tour in good company is plus some extra, ... so here are some of my impressions of the hiked path.
The path from Martuljek is eased by a nice forest road (starting in the forest left of the ski lift) and leads to the Ingot hut, park a bit earlier (space for about 10-12 cars).
After cca 500m, at a well-marked junction: left or straight - to Ingot and further Za Ak and right - cirque below Heart or below Špik (both paths to bivouacs are marked), we choose the latter, which in my opinion is more suitable for ascent now. Conditions to cirque below Heart and further across all three Kotlje nothing special (some scrub and scree, now snow here and there); if first time on this path, hardest to find cairns and path to forest at end of scree of cirque below Heart, leading across Kotlje. Trail mostly followable, uphill keeps more right and runs left of ridge Na Pečeh (separating Špik gully and Kotlje). At exit from last Kotelj worth climbing right to easily reachable Vrh Peči, nice view from there, below to cirque, opposite Špik, Frdamanove ledges,... and ahead scree and access to summit.
Scree under Poncami partly bare, where still snow due to current high temps sinks well, so yesterday no crampons needed even in uppermost steepest part under saddle.
Path from saddle to summit fully dry, first twenty height meters above saddle requires easy climbing to I grade, then terrain flattens and easier, good visibility no orientation issues, ascent keep right passages (those facing Martuljek side). On indistinct composed summit little space, box with logbook on it.
When we looked south side of saddle to Veliko dnino, path has some snow tongues in places, lower gully part path quite collapsed.
Descended under walls of VMP and Oltajev toward Three Larches and to cirque Za Ak. Extensive screes barely snow-covered, snow surface no longer continuous. Some places last year's cairns peeked out, we set some new ones too. Little snow shows in Kačji jezik and Jugova grapa too. Crossing screes and all three gullies toward Three Larches on descent certainly less annoying than ascent, but now still take it high enough. From cirque Za Ak down to hut at Ingot, checked en route how watery II waterfall is.
Whole tour long and strenuous, for pathless parts pick day with good visibility, ascent good 5 hours, descent 4 hours, on described route in given favorable snow-dry conditions.
parking lot at the end of the forest road from Martuljek1
we choose the marked path into the cirque Pod Špik or Pod srcem and start almost in summer attire2
in the cirque Pod Špik or Pod srcem3
at the end of the scree in the cirque we search for the path (cairns), which leads upwards over Kotle4
View of Špikov graben5
in the Lower Kotel ... and on the right the easiest passage upwards6
In the Middle Kotel ... the exit is logical and easier than the previous7
in the Upper Kotel ... where both Poncas show their north walls to us8
Vrh Peči, scenic and easily accessible peak above Zg.Kotel, scree under Poncami in the background9
towards the saddle between both Poncas, the steepness increases considerably in the upper part10
at the saddle between VMP and MMP11
from the saddle to MMP is the most demanding initial approach, ... then we look for right (easier) passages12
the ridge eases a bit, the path levels out and the middle part is easier, but the last part is a bit more demanding again13
at the summit there is little space14
this year there haven't been many entries in the book yet15
fog played a little trick on us at the summit, descent over the middle wider part of the ridge back to the saddle16
view from the saddle into the gully towards Velika Dnina, ... with small remnants of snow, below a torn off part is visible17
Ski descent from the saddle, ... now the effort has paid off for some.18
Snow tongues under VMP are all shorter and narrower, view towards Trem macesnom (far left) and into the cirque Za Ak.19
Soft and breakable snow under VMP and Oltarji, ... above a view of Kačji jezik.20
under Jugova grapa, ... also very little snow in it21
above the Three larches the path is already bare and the možiclji are already serving their purpose22
at the Three larches there is the logbook, from there downwards we descend again into the annoying gully of scree and gravel23
the skiing is not over yet, the snow covering the rocks and gravel greatly eases the walking too24
outlet of the wide gully under the Three larches, below view of the vast cirque behind Ak25
view back (course of the last part of the descent) from the lower edge of the scree field of the Za Ak cirque26
bivouac III in the cirque behind Za Ak is located in the forest about 10 min above the last edge of the scree27
under shelter, ... in the forest, at the path fork to the 2nd waterfall28
beautiful and secured for viewing, the upper i.e. II. Martuljek waterfall under shelter. For Akos, to here an ordinary hike29
at Ingov's cabin, ... nearby there is also a larger wooden chapel interesting to see30
From Ingota to the parking lot (car) is still a good 10 minutes, to Ingota one can also ride from the valley on a mountain bike.31
... and for those who like such a path sketch - also the first part of the ascent from the Pod srcem cirque upwards.32
